Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley has been named No. 1 in the United States in The Zoe Report’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Wine Hotel. The recognition comes during Harvest season in Calistoga, where recently introduced wine experiences connect guests with the estate vineyard and neighbouring wineries, offering reasons to visit beyond the season.

Readers celebrated morning light on the vines from private terraces and tastings at the on-site winery. They also praised the pools and dining, highlighting the thoughtful, personalised service. A Forbes Five-Star luxury Resort in Calistoga, the property brings these experiences together around 4.7 acres of organically farmed Cabernet Sauvignon, with Elusa Winery steps from guest rooms.

“When I joined the Resort, I wanted to build on what makes this corner of Calistoga special: the vineyard at our doorstep and the people who bring it to life,” says Robby Delaney, general manager of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley. “What means most about this recognition is that readers noticed the personal service as much as the wine. A beautiful setting brings people here; the way we care for them gives them a reason to return.”

From Vineyard to Cellar

At Elusa, Blend Like a Winemaker invites groups of six or more to explore the decisions behind a finished wine. Following a production tour, guests create and bottle personal blends to take home. The Chocolate and Wine Tasting Experience offers another perspective, pairing Elusa wines with locally made chocolates selected to complement or contrast their flavours.

Just seven minutes from the Resort, Davis Estates offers a closer look at Calistoga winemaking. A private visit takes guests through the estate vineyard and into the Howard Backen-designed winery before descending into 11,000 square feet of caves. Barrel pours along the route lead to a tasting of four current-release wines, each paired with a seasonal dish from the estate’s culinary team. The Davis family’s private car collection can also be viewed on request, and complimentary house car transportation is available from the Resort upon request.

On Howell Mountain, a private visit to ADAMVS combines a walk through the vineyards and biodynamic gardens with a tasting of estate wines alongside selections from the Adams family’s Bordeaux estates. At Chateau Montelena, the Insider Experience pairs library and current-release vintages with access to areas outside the standard visit, as the estate marks 50 years since its Chardonnay prevailed at the Judgment of Paris.

Dining in Calistoga

At Auro, Calistoga’s only MICHELIN-starred restaurant, Executive Chef Evan Neumann presents a seven-course tasting menu drawing on Napa Valley’s seasonal ingredients. Wine pairings extend the exploration beyond the cellar, while TRUSS Restaurant + Bar offers seasonal California dining with views of the estate vineyard and Palisades Mountains. Both restaurants received Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence in 2026.

Unwind at Spa Talisa

At the Resort’s Spa Talisa, Calistoga’s long tradition of mud treatments informs the Calistoga Mud Experience, available as an enhancement to massages and facials. Eucalyptus steam rooms and a heated whirlpool overlooking the vines offer time to unwind between treatments. Elsewhere at  Resort, an adults-only pool and a family-friendly pool provide space to spend an afternoon beside the vineyard.

Plan a Wine Country Stay

The Napa Valley Getaway includes vineyard-view accommodations, daily breakfast, along with an Elusa Library Experience for two and a seasonal welcome amenity. A two-night minimum stay and reservations at least three days in advance are required.
