We're with the Band: The Chris Casello Trio

Four Seasons Hotel Nashville spotlights the very best of the city’s live music scene
Nashville, USA

Four Seasons Hotel Nashville might be within walking distance of Music City’s major event venues featuring international artists, but it also enjoys a luxury of incredible home-grown talents and local musicians who perform across the city’s lesser-known live music spots.

In this edition of “We’re With The Band” we spotlight Chris Casello, the guitarist and front man of a rockabilly trio who, starting December 2023, are bringing the best of Nashville’s live music scene to Mimo Bar as part of the exciting new program of bands featuring five nights a week at the Hotel's flagship restaurant and bar.

The Band:

Chris Casello – Guitar, Steel Guitar, Vocals

Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Chris Casello has enjoyed celebrated success in a career that has seen him inducted into The Rockabilly Hall of Fame, awarded The Ameripolitan Musician of The Year, as well as play alongside greats such as Bo Diddley, Johnny Powers and Wanda Jackson.

Chris Casello is arguably one the most dynamic and entertaining guitarists in the world of roots music today, taking his influences from Les Paul and Chet Atkins to Chuck Berry and Link Wray, multitasking guitar, steel and vocals in a high energy swinging rockabilly blues explosion.

California Johnny G – Stand Up Bass, Vocals

Born in California, and now very much a Nashville resident, Johnny’s collaborations include Chuck Berry, leading The Cash Kings tribute band and Hot Rod Lincoln, signalling how highly he is regarded in musical circles.

Jimmy Lester – Drums, Percussion, Whistles and Rebel Yells

Raised in Nashville, Grammy nominated Jimmy Lester needs no introduction in the Music City scene and comes with a string of high-profile partnerships on his resume including Los Straitjackets, Webb Wilder and Billy Joe Shaver.

Q. How did it all start for you, Chris?

“Growing up in mid-20th century America, watching stars on television such as Elvis, Johnny Cash Show, and Glen Campbell’s Good Time Hour is where I got the bug,” explains Casello.  “As a child I received a guitar and an Elvis record for Christmas, and it all went from there,” he adds.

Q. Where could folks find you playing at the moment?

“Well, Four Seasons now!” exclaims Chris.  “And we’re really excited about bringing our sound and energy into the Hotel bar for the guests to experience,” he explains, with The Chris Casello trio appearing bi-weekly as part of the Hotel’s music program.  “The Chris Casello Trio plays every Sunday and Tuesday at Roberts Western World from 6:00 to 10:00 pm, and we also appear regularly at spots such as East Side Bowl and Star Rover Sound,” adds Casello.

Q. What advice would you give to our guests visiting Nashville and wanting to experience Nashville’s music scene?

“Mimo Bar at Four Seasons! But if you’re around on Tuesdays, the American Legion Post 82, The Five Spot on Mondays and of course Roberts Western World any day or time,” explains Casello.  “And please tip the band generously if you can, this is how we make our living,” he asks.

Q. You've travelled internationally playing music.  Which destination has been a real highlight for you to have played and why?

“Spain rocks, but I like Italy’s food better,” smiles Casello.
