Four Seasons New Orleans Invites Community to Join Terry Fox Run in Support of Cancer Research
Four Seasons Hotel and Residences New Orleans invites the community to come together for a meaningful cause at the Terry Fox Run on Saturday, October 24, at 8:30 am. The free, family-friendly event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to enjoy a scenic route along the Mississippi Riverfront while raising funds for cancer research.
The 5 km (3 mile) route begins at Vue Orleans and takes participants along the riverfront, passing the Audubon Aquarium, French Market District, Moon Walk, and Crescent Park before returning to the starting point. The Terry Fox Run is non-competitive, with no registration fee. Voluntary donations benefit cancer research through Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
The Terry Fox Run honours the extraordinary legacy of Canadian athlete and cancer research advocate Terry Fox, who embarked on his Marathon of Hope in 1980 to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.
The event holds a special connection to Four Seasons. Founder Isadore Sharp was an early supporter of Terry Fox's 1980 Marathon of Hope and played an instrumental role in establishing the first Terry Fox Run in 1981. For more than four decades, Four Seasons colleagues and properties around the world have hosted, sponsored, and participated in Terry Fox Run events in support of cancer research.
