VIRTÙ at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi Wins Spot on 2025 Star Bars List by Forbes Travel Guide
Adding yet another feather to its glittering cap, VIRTÙ at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi was named to Forbes Travel Guide’s 2025 Star Bars list, representing the pinnacle of hotel bar experiences.
Unveiled on June 8, 2025, the new accolade speaks to VIRTÙ’s steady global rise, led by the passion and expertise of Head Bartender Keith Motsi. The Paris-meets-Tokyo bar is also currently ranked #42 among the World’s 50 Best Bars and #11 among Asia’s 50 Best Bars.
This year’s 58 Star Bars honourees, spanning 19 countries, were identified through data gathered as part of Forbes Travel Guide’s 2024 and 2025 Star Ratings, based on exacting incognito inspections. The bars featured on the list excelled in scores related to beverage programming and presentation, as well as providing seamless luxurious service. The selection of 58 bars is a tribute to Forbes Travel Guide’s founding in 1958.
“My team and I thank Forbes Travel Guide for this recognition, especially to be named alongside some of the world’s most inspiring bars,” says Keith. “It’s an exciting new era for hotel bars and we’re thrilled to be leading the evolution. At VIRTÙ, we bring an element of fun and flair to the drinking experience, even within an impeccably luxurious context. At the end of the day, we are on stage. And every moment is showtime.”
Uday Rao, Regional Vice President and General Manager, also shares his joy at VIRTÙ’s achievement: “To be named by Forbes Travel Guide is a meaningful nod to the rhythm we’ve built at VIRTÙ - one of care, creativity and quiet precision. It’s a place where serious craft meets light-hearted spirit, and we’re grateful to see that recognized.”
Perched on the 39th floor of Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi, VIRTÙ offers a dazzling welcome to those who love cocktails, cognacs and stories. In a city marked by understatement, this bar isn’t afraid to express its distinct personality through Art Deco, live music, bar takeovers and more. On certain nights, the vibe gets so electric you might just end up dancing with Keith behind the bar.
Lively as the setting may be, the beverage menu showcases a meticulous attention to detail, blending the elegance of Paris with the craftsmanship of Tokyo. Drawing from a world-leading collection of vintage French spirits and rare cognacs, Keith and his team reinterpret classic French flavours through modern Japanese techniques. Guests are invited to explore the storybook-themed menu, inspired by European fables and Japanese tales, alongside an inspiring calendar of daily drinking rituals and private tastings.
