Renowned architect Pierre-Yves Rochon – the visionary behind several of the renovation projects at Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris – has reimagined L’Orangerie with a striking new design. The restaurant’s organic setting immerses diners in a veritable sensory experience, elevating Alan Taudon’s two Michelin-starred cuisine, known for its bold yet delicate flavours.

Bathed in natural light, L’Orangerie’s intimate dining room offers breathtaking views of the Marble Courtyard through expansive floor-to-ceiling glass windows. A harmonious blend of art, materials and light define the space, where soft neutrals, blonde woods and earthy hues create a warm, cocoon-like ambience – an elegant contrast to the grandeur and vibrancy of the palace’s other spaces.

A striking porcelain sculpture by Art and Floritude is suspended from the ceiling, floating effortlessly and inviting quiet contemplation. This masterpiece embodies the poetic fusion of nature and art, placing the natural world at the heart of the dining experience. Crafted with meticulous precision, the installation features more than 10,000 bougainvillaea leaves, painstakingly handmade by six artisans over more than 2,800 hours. Meanwhile, 600 delicate porcelain flowers – sculpted petal by petal in a process spanning 900 hours – draw inspiration from magnolias, ancient roses, hellebores, camellias and freesias, celebrating nature’s organic curves and intricate textures. As the evening unfolds, dynamic plays of light transform the atmosphere, bringing the room to life in a continuous, mesmerising evolution. By weaving nature into the very fabric of the space, this extraordinary setting offers a truly immersive experience.

“L’Orangerie is a place that tells a story, where nature and light come together to form a living décor that seamlessly complements Alan Taudon’s cuisine. Every detail – from the porcelain foliage to the delicate interplay of reflections – weaves a harmonious connection between art, material and flavour,” explains Pierre-Yves Rochon.

Much thought has gone into the furniture, with each piece crafted by exceptional artisans. The tables and service units are custom-made by Giorgetti, while the curtains, which grace the room with refined elegance, are crafted by Philippe Coudray. Chairs and sofas, meanwhile, are designed by French manufacturer Counot, adding a touch of comfort and sophistication.

The tablescape has also been meticulously designed to echo the essence of the chef’s cuisine. Handcrafted by Olga.etc, the ceramic pieces perfectly complement the refined aesthetic of the chef’s creations, achieving a rare harmony between natural materials and flavours.

Chef Alan Taudon has crafted a menu shaped by the seasons and the finest ingredients from both land and sea. Embracing his creativity and inspiration, he surprises guests with unexpected flavour combinations, inviting them on an unforgettable sensory journey.
