Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia Welcomes All-City Jazz Fellowship for a Spring Music Series at SkyHigh
Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia announces a limited-time music series with Ensemble Arts Philly, launching next month to further enhance the Hotel’s dynamic music offerings at SkyHigh. This spring, the Hotel will introduce the Spring Jazz Series, a new addition to its commitment to providing a platform for emerging talent in Philadelphia.
In collaboration with Ensemble Arts Philly, the All-City Jazz Fellowship program nurtures young jazz talent through personalized training. Each year, five talented high school students receive weekly lessons and mentorship from professional musicians within Philadelphia's vibrant jazz community. Throughout the program the students receive a stipend to support instrument needs, access to performance tickets, and the opportunity to engage with renowned artists. The community and Hotel guests are invited to enjoy five evenings of exceptional live jazz in the unique setting of SkyHigh, with performances from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursdays: April 10, 17, 24, and May 1 and 8.
“Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia and SkyHigh are dedicated to supporting the next generation of artists, enriching the city’s cultural scene, and giving young musicians an incredible stage to share their talent,” says Damien Beguin, Director of Food and Beverage at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia.
The student ensemble, featuring Elijah Booker (drums), Simon Church (piano), Jacob Dennis (tenor saxophone), Emma Jimenez (voice), and Lily Toner (bass), will perform a dynamic mix of jazz classics by Thelonious Monk and Horace Silver, as well as original student compositions.
“Our Jazz Fellowship Students are trained by our world class Ensemble Arts Philly teaching artists so they can perform in premier professional settings like the recent UNCF Mayor's Masked Ball and now at SkyHigh restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia," says Ryan Fleur, Interim President and CEO of The Philadelphia Orchestra and Ensemble Arts. "Arts education is core to our mission and we are dedicated to providing the skills and opportunities for new artists to perform. We are thrilled to support them in this exciting step in their musical journey.”
In addition to the performances at SkyHigh, the All-City Jazz Fellows perform at notable venues in the city, with their year culminating in an End of the Season Celebration before the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra at Marian Anderson Hall. Many Fellows have earned scholarships to prestigious institutions, including the Peabody Institute, Manhattan School of Music, and the University of Edinburgh.
