Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe welcomes Melissa Sims as General Manager, following her most recent appointment as Hotel Manager at Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel. Sims brings a diversity of management experience to her new role at the helm of the brand’s Santa Fe property, recently ranked the #1 Best Resort in New Mexico by U.S. News & World Report.

“I fell in love with Santa Fe and the idyllic surrounding when I was here last year for a relaxing girls’ weekend,” says Sims. “I left rejuvenated and relaxed.”

Adds Sims, “My journey with Four Seasons has provided me the opportunity to work in many big cities – New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. I am looking forward to living and working in a more intimate setting, and forming deeper community connections with my family.”

Sims began her Four Seasons career at Four Seasons Hotel New York in 2005 as an Assistant Restaurant Manager. She soon transitioned from operations to the role of Learning Manager, and was promoted subsequently to Senior Learning Manager in 2011. Sims’ next position was as Assistant Director of Human Resources. After two years in the role, she was promoted to Director of Human Resources at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. Following Chicago, Sims returned to New York, this time to open Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown in 2015 as the Director of People and Culture. Following a successful opening, Sims headed to the West Coast in 2019 to take on a new adventure as Resort Manager at Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara.

After nearly two years – including navigating through the pandemic – Sims and her family made the move to Los Angeles in 2021, where she joined Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel. Sims played an impactful role in the property’s USD 40 million room renovation and positioned the Hotel as a premier destination in Beverly Hills. Under her leadership, the Hotel achieved the highest guest satisfaction scores in more than a decade.

Sims holds a Bachelor of Science degree from culinary school at Nicholls State University and a Master’s Degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management from the University of New Orleans. She also holds certifications from the Society of Human Resources Management – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

In her leisure time, Sims enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading, and cheering for her favourite football teams, the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. Sims and her husband, Brent, are proud parents to three children: 6-year-old Guy Thomas, 4-year-old Evangeline (Evie) Rose, and their infant son, Vincent Henry. In Santa Fe, she is looking forward to exploring the unique culinary scene and experiencing the plentiful outdoor adventure opportunities with her family.

“Being from a small town in Louisiana, this already feels like home in many ways,” says Sims. “I am excited to learn more and become a bigger part of the community.”
