Executive Chef Gregory Joseph credits an early love for the culinary arts for leading him to the acclaimed Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. Joseph also received culinary training in his hometown of San Diego, California, where he learned to blend the vibrant flavours of the West Coast with the sophisticated techniques learned at one of the top culinary schools in the world.

“Working in hospitality – and behind the line in a professional kitchen – has been a defining part of my life,” says Joseph. “It is very rewarding to see the tangible results of my culinary vision come to life, and there is limitless ability to learn and grow if you are dedicated to your craft.”

Throughout his more than 25 years working in the luxury hospitality industry, Joseph has honed his craft at some of the most renowned hotel brands in the country, including the iconic Arizona Biltmore, Grand Hyatt Union Square and the Ritz-Carlton in New York City.

What truly excites Joseph about the culinary world is the opportunity to explore the diversity of food culture. Over the years, he has lived in multiple vibrant dining capitals across the country, including New York City, where he worked at globally acclaimed Le Cirque and Jean-Georges. These experiences sharpened his cooking philosophy, inspiring him to embrace creativity while respecting traditional culinary techniques.

“Four Seasons is synonymous with luxury, and this is a great opportunity in my career to join this culture. It allows me to share my knowledge and continue to build on my craft.”

Joseph credits his exposure to different food styles and cultural influences with strengthening his ability to lead teams to craft exceptional dining experiences for guests from all walks of life.

“Having lived in so many diverse regions, I have become not only a better chef, but also a more empathetic and effective team leader,” he says. “Understanding and celebrating the cultures around me plays a pivotal role in fostering strong relationships and creating an inclusive and expressive kitchen environment where everyone can thrive.”

While not busy in the kitchen, Joseph cherishes his time with his wife Lori, and their three children: Lisa, Alex and Nora. As a family, they are excited to make Santa Fe their new home and explore the local culture, cuisine and outdoor activities.
