Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North Introduces Desert Orchard, a Café Inspired by the Spirit of the Sonoran

Scottsdale, U.S.A.

Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North has unveiled Desert Orchard, a new artisanal café concept that honours the beauty, resilience, and quiet abundance of the Sonoran Desert. Tucked beneath the dramatic backdrop of Pinnacle Peak, Desert Orchard offers more than a culinary experience—it is a story rooted in place, carrying forward the legacy of nourishment and connection that has defined this land for nearly a century.

The café draws inspiration from the Sonoran Desert itself. The desert’s stillness encourages a slower pace, its rhythm shapes how people move, and its quiet resilience reveals how much life thrives in unexpected ways. Desert Orchard reflects that same spirit through a fresh, seasonal menu crafted with care and designed to move with guests throughout the day—whether beginning the morning, pausing between activities, or preparing for an afternoon on the trails.

The land surrounding the Resort holds a long memory. In the 1930s, the Dumas and Schuerman families established Crescent Moon Ranch on this site, planting orchards and gardens under the desert sun. What began as a working ranch quickly became a place of welcome, where visitors arrived by horseback, road, and foot for something refreshing and restorative. Desert Orchard carries forward this tradition, offering food that is generous, seasonal, and shaped by what the land can provide.

Leading this flavourful new chapter is the Resort’s newly appointed Executive Pastry Chef, Christina Kaelberer, an award-winning culinary talent with over 15 years of experience creating acclaimed dessert programs and launching high-profile food and beverage concepts across the country. Her background includes leadership roles at Four Seasons Hotel Fort Lauderdale, Raffles Boston, and The ‘Quin House in Boston.

Desert Orchard will reflect the chef’s signature style of innovation and artistry—merging clean, vibrant ingredients with refined technique. Guests can expect standout creations like Pistachio-Lavender Croissants, Mole Brownies with pecan caramel, Blue Corn Madeleines with blueberry jam, and vegan Chocolate Crème Verrines.

Every detail at Desert Orchard is designed to reflect the story of its surroundings. Ingredients highlight the flavours of the desert through drought-tolerant herbs, fresh fruits, and seasonal produce. Croissants are layered with citrus and lavender, bowls are filled with grains and desert-grown vegetables, and pastries are baked fresh each morning. The offerings are intended to travel well, taste fresh, and carry the spirit of the Sonoran landscape.

Desert Orchard is open daily from 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, inviting both Scottsdale locals and Resort guests to experience the desert through taste, to savour what is in season, and to enjoy a moment of nourishment and restoration inspired by the timeless rhythm of the land.
