Warm, intuitive and deeply attuned to the art of personal connection, Hailey Jung approaches hospitality as a form of thoughtful storytelling. Guided by an instinctive understanding of people, she’s passionate about creating guest experiences shaped by meaningful details and emotional resonance. This personalised approach has become a defining part of her journey at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, where she has spent her time building connections that feel both seamless and sincere.
Born and raised in Seoul, from a young age Jung nurtured an intrinsic curiosity about people and global cultures. That interest deepened during a two-year working holiday in London, where she joined Fortnum & Mason. It was at the iconic department store that she discovered the joys of engaging with guests from around the world. “Meeting different people every day gave me energy,” she says. “It confirmed that hospitality was where I belonged.”
On her return to Korea, Jung joined Four Seasons Hotel Seoul as a Room Service Order Taker. She credits beginning her hospitality journey in in-room dining with providing a foundation across both Rooms and Food & Beverage, while revealing the intricate coordination behind exceptional guest experiences. From there, she progressed through Front Desk and Guest Relations before ultimately moving into Concierge - a role she describes as a natural evolution of her passion for heartfelt service.
Her philosophy that “the smallest, most thoughtful details often leave the most lasting impressions” is reflected in her highly tailored approach to guest care. Known for reading subtle cues and adapting naturally to each guest’s pace and preferences, she focuses on creating experiences that feel effortless and memorable.
One particularly meaningful moment came after recommending a local restaurant to a guest. During dinner, a song began playing that had been his late father’s favourite, transforming the evening into an unexpectedly emotional experience. After learning this, Jung arranged a thoughtful photo display in the guest’s room inspired by the memory. “I learned from the experience that true ‘wow’ moments often come from emotional connection rather than luxury alone,” she reflects.
As Chef Concierge, Jung delights in introducing guests to a more personal side of Seoul. Among her recommendations is Seochon, a neighbourhood she loves for its quieter charm, traditional hanok homes and tucked-away cafés and bars. Having grown up in Songpa, she also frequently suggests peaceful, nature-rich havens such as Seokchon Lake and Olympic Park, places she has visited since childhood. For guests seeking a deeper understanding of Korea, Jung also recommends the hotel’s DMZ tour experience, offering rare, thought-provoking insight into the history of the Korean peninsula through visits to key sites within the Korean Demilitarised Zone.
“What makes Seoul especially memorable is the way tradition and modernity exist side by side,” she says. “It’s become one of the world’s most exciting and dynamic cities with an incredible depth of culture, dining and lifestyle to explore.”
Beyond the hotel, Jung enjoys discovering new restaurants and coffee shops across the city, often building recommendation lists to share with guests. She is also an avid film lover, drawn to cinema’s ability to immerse audiences in different lives, emotions and perspectives. For Jung, hospitality offers much the same reward: the opportunity to step into someone else’s story, if only for a moment, and help shape it into something unforgettable.
