Four Seasons Seychelles Celebrates Summer of Sport 2024
This year, Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island are offering a range of unrivalled sporting experiences alongside world-class athletes. Guests feeling inspired by the Summer of Sport can lace up their trainers and run with one of the island’s professional runners at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles; while those who want to try their hand at surfing - officially a new competitive sport added to this summer's lineup - can make the most of the unrivalled surf experiences at both Four Seasons Seychelles properties.
Running Through Paradise
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles is thrilled to announce team member Sharry Dodin will head to Paris this summer to represent the Seychelles. The Housekeeping Attendant will be competing in the 100 metre sprint, having previously represented Seychelles in the Indian Ocean Islands games, the Francophone games and the African junior championships. Exclusively at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, guests will have the opportunity to join Sharry on his daily runs and explore the very best the island has to offer. Located on the south of Mahé island, the Resort is nestled among 70 hectares (170 acres) of lush tropical hillside overlooking Petite Anse Bay, which boasts one of the Seychelles’ most beautiful white-sand beaches. Alongside Dodin, guests will be able to explore the Seychelles’ famed lush greenery, dramatic rock formations and powder beaches while taking tips on their running technique.
Surf’s Up
This summer, surfing will be a hot topic of conversation with individuals competing alongside an already impressive roster of sports. Those wanting to try their hand at the sport can enjoy exceptional surfing experiences at both Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island.
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island: Featuring 14 kilometres (almost 9 miles) of beaches to comb and endless empty surf line-ups to explore, Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island is blessed with an extraordinary count of reef passes. From October to April, experienced surfers can expect a diverse range of waves, including smooth longboard sliders offering rides stretching up to 300 metres (985 feet), challenging slabbing barrels, and exhilarating long walls. Unlike most other surfing resorts, Four Seasons Resort at Desroches Island also plays host to beginner waves all year round, located at the “Sand Patch.” Here, a sand bottom reef provides the perfect learning ground for beginners to progress through to an intermediate level, guided by the hotel’s world-class coaches.
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles: From May to October, the Resort emerges as a tropical surfing paradise and the perfect castaway haven for surfers looking for crowd-free breaks. Guests can expect a range of reef and beach break set-ups that can produce waves of exceptional quality, alongside pristine beaches and world-class coaching. Guests of all abilities, from beginners to experienced surfers, can enjoy surf lessons on the Resort beach and half-day guided surf excursions to the very best nearby breaks, led by an industry-leading coach.
