Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island have proudly partnered with Sanaa, a Tanzanian company that produces craft homemade glasses. Every glass is infused with love, dedication, and a tremendous amount of effort using recycled products. These bright and colourful home-made glasses will be used by Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island for its in-room amenities, while these glasses will grace the “feet in sand” steak shack experience at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles.

At the very core of Sanaa’s mission, the group empowers people with disabilities to enhance their talent, grows their creative stances and supports their purpose in contributing to a more sustainable world.

Sanaa is making significant strides in championing sustainability through its innovative use of recycled and reused products, which not only benefit the environment but also support local Tanzanian businesses. Through their efforts, Sanaa is not only fostering a culture of environmental responsibility but also empowering local economies, demonstrating positive social and environmental impact simultaneously. Four Seasons Resorts in Seychelles value the spirit behind Sanaa’s belief that when motivation and uniqueness is combined, something special comes from it, and are happy to support this noble initiative. Sanaa themselves proudly mention on their platforms, “Proceeds are used for all charitable projects that Sanaa supports. Our artisans are proud to be the breadwinners for their families and in turn generate funds to support other people in need!”

Renan Astolpho, General Manager at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, passionately talks about the introduction of these glasses at his Resort. “I really commend Sanaa’s eco-conscious approach in creating these homemade glasses for our Resorts. Their sustainable practices exemplify a harmonious blend of craftmanship and environmental stewardship, enriching our guests’ experience with every sip,” he mentions.

The Tanzanian group Sanaa comments, “We’ve all seen the magic of glass blowing - the practice of shaping a mass of glass that has been softened by heat by blowing air into it through a tube. Our artisans have taken this skill and turned it into a career. They’ve created everything from decorative pieces to everyday items – from wine glasses to decanters, jugs, door knobs, lamps, sculpture and chandeliers – that the local community adores. Livingstone, one of our craftsmen, is one of Tanzania’s only deaf glassblowers.”

This is one of the many initiatives taken by Four Seasons Resorts in Seychelles towards a more sustainable existence. Among other initiatives, Four Seasons Resort Seychelles is actively engaged in coral restoration programs while Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island has adopted solar energy at the core of its operations in addition to creating a natural sanctuary for the much-famed Aldabra giant tortoises. Partnership with Sanaa is another step towards showing gratitude to the planet and the communities that embrace it.
