Passionate hotelier Budi Widodo brings more than two decades of luxury hotel management experience to his role at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island, where he is further enhancing the Resort’s reputation for castaway romance, rejuvenation and adventure.

Soon after beginning his working life as a bartender and wine bar assistant, the teenage Budi immersed himself in hospitality as a cruise ship butler and service captain based out of Singapore before finding his home in the world of luxury hotels.

In 2001, Budi took his first step on the ladder to his dream career when he was appointed as assistant restaurant manager for the Park Lane Hotel in Jakarta. Here, proving himself to be a natural leader, he was quickly promoted to head bar manager. In 2005, Budi joined The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta as a Restaurant manager and progressed through the ranks to become banquet director and, later, Restaurant Director.

After a year at Hotel Mulia, Budi became part of the Four Seasons family as Food and Beverage Director at Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta. The following seven years saw him hold this prestigious position at both Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa and Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai before, in 2017, he was rewarded for his unfailing excellence with a promotion to Hotel Manager in Shanghai.

“Since 1998, I have travelled the world of luxury hospitality with appointments in Singapore, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, and the Maldives,” Budi says. “Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has been my home for more than a decade of that career and I have enjoyed the privilege of serving at iconic properties with a series of outstanding teams and individuals.”

Following a tenure at Ritz-Carlton as hotel manager for their property in Sanya, China, Budi rejoined Four Seasons in his current appointment in September 2023.

Budi is a dedicated family man, happily married to Denik, and proud father to Bima. Alongside the joy of caring for his family, Budi takes great pride in nurturing new talent in his resorts.

In his downtime, Budi's interests are as diverse as they are exciting. From exploring new restaurants to moving to the beat at music festivals, or cheering F1 drivers around the world’s race circuits, he's a true epicurean. On his days off, you'll find him jogging, whipping up delicious dishes, or casting his line fishing to unwind.
