Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research Returns to Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley

On Sunday, September 27, 2026, the Terry Fox Run will once again bring together the Silicon Valley community in support of cancer research. Hosted by Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley, the event continues a growing tradition that honours the legacy of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox and his enduring Marathon of Hope.

The Four Seasons Silicon Valley Terry Fox Run has become an important annual community event, bringing together participants from across the San Francisco Bay Area to raise funds and awareness for cancer research. Now entering its fourth year, the run continues to grow in participation and impact, building on the momentum of previous events.

The connection between Four Seasons and Terry Fox is especially meaningful. Four Seasons founder Isadore Sharp was a close friend of Terry Fox and his family and established the Terry Fox Run to help carry forward Terry's vision of a world without cancer. Today, that legacy continues through thousands of Terry Fox Runs held around the world each year.

A special highlight of this year's event will be the participation of Darrell Fox, Terry's brother and longtime advocate for cancer research. On Saturday, September 26, Darrell Fox will join Georges Safi, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley, for a special community bike ride ahead of the weekend's activities. The Terry Fox Run will follow on Sunday, September 27, welcoming runners, walkers, families, and supporters of all ages.

Participation in the Silicon Valley Terry Fox Run has steadily increased over the years and has been supported by multiple Four Seasons properties throughout Northern California, including Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco, Four Seasons Hotel Embarcadero, and  Four Seasons Hotel Napa Valley. Last year's event welcomed its largest turnout to date, underscoring the growing commitment of the region to Terry's mission.

Food Truck for Cancer Research

Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley is pleased to bring back its popular Food Truck for Cancer Research in support of the Terry Fox Run. Located at the race site, the food truck will feature chef-prepared favorites made possible through the generous sponsorship of food and labour by Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco. All proceeds from food truck sales will directly support cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).

Participants, spectators, and supporters are invited to enjoy breakfast, lunch, and refreshments while contributing to a meaningful cause. The initiative reflects Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley's ongoing commitment to supporting the Terry Fox Foundation and advancing the fight against cancer through community engagement.

Terry Fox became a global symbol of courage and determination in 1980 when, after losing his right leg to osteogenic sarcoma, he embarked on his Marathon of Hope across Canada. Running the equivalent of a marathon each day on a prosthetic leg, Terry covered 5,373 kilometres (3,339 miles) before cancer forced him to stop. His dream of funding cancer research lives on through the annual Terry Fox Run, which has raised hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide.

All proceeds from the Silicon Valley Terry Fox Run will support groundbreaking cancer research through Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). The event is non-competitive, family-friendly, and open to participants of all ages and abilities, with no minimum donation required.
