April 29, 2025,
Taormina, Italy

For the second season, San Domenico Palace, Taormina, a Four Seasons Hotel, home to an artistic treasure trove of over 500 classic and contemporary works, works opens its doors to the art and creativity of artist Sergio Fiorentino.

Renowned artist Sergio Fiorentino is acclaimed worldwide for his distinctive style tied to classical and religious icons, deeply rooted in his Sicilian origins, and the island landscape, exalted through unique colors and textures.

The new piece, titled Sognatore Blu, is installed in the evocative Ancient Cloister. Sognatore Blu is a canvas painting depicting a water being, enveloped as if in amniotic fluid. Fiorentino’s unmistakable monochrome style is an invitation to lose oneself in the shades of deep blue – a blue that echoes the sea and sky of Vendicari.

Through this masterpiece, Sicily unveils its deepest essence, captivating and enchanting even those who have yet to discover it. The depth of its sea and the magic of its atmosphere emerge powerfully, transforming each brushstroke into an invitation to fall in love with this land.

The artist’s other signature color is gold, inspired by the stone and gold of baroque Noto. Gold appears not only on the canvas but also in Migrazione di Tonni – a series of sculptures installed next to the large painting. Originally created for the Fuorisalone in Milan, during which the artist brought furniture and sculptures inspired by Sicilian craftsmanship to life – metals, coral, silver, lapis lazuli – Migrazione di Tonni is crafted from hammered copper and brass, as totems, and the choice of tuna is referencing to the iconic Sicilian tonnare, from the Vendicari region. Both artworks were displayed at Fuorisalone Milan 2025 with Studio Nomade d’Artista.

The exhibition location is no coincidence; it lies in the heart of San Domenico Palace, dating back to the late 14th century, a meeting point not only for monks but also symbolically for the four elements: water, air, earth, and fire. Water is here represented in a contemporary way through the artist's perspective.

The San Domenico Palace, Taormina, a Four Seasons Hotel – a true ambassador of Sicily’s history and soul – continues to offer its guests a timeless atmosphere, capturing the island’s essence and culture through contemporary art. It also provides local artists the opportunity to be admired by travelers from all over the world.

The works on display are also available for purchase at Sergio Fiorentino’s atelier in Noto - an atelier that guests can visit thanks to the extraordinary experience organized by San Domenico Palace, Taormina, a Four Seasons Hotel: "Behind the Scenes of Noto." During this experience, guests will have the opportunity to meet the artist and discover his world firsthand. The day continues with an exploration of Noto, guided by a local expert, and concludes with an authentic Sicilian lunch at his historic villa.
