Four Seasons Resort and Residences at The Pearl-Qatar, a glamorous beachfront oasis located at the Pearl-Qatar, has partnered with the world-famous artist Clym Evernden. Marking his debut in the Middle East, Clym has created an array of captivating illustrations and animations that capture the unique charm of the property.

By collaborating with Clym, the property aimed to create a captivating visual story that depicts its energy and glamorous living experience. Through the creation of four illustrations and four animated videos, Clym presents an eclectic fusion of colours and shapes. The striking illustrations feature various spaces of the property, epitomising four of its distinct features:

  • Glamorous Apartments: Residence-style suites designed to be a home away from home.
  • Culinary Destination: Connecting guests to the heart of the local culture and Michelin-star cuisine.
  • Pristine Private Beach: Creating an inimitable beachfront oasis.
  • The Pearl Island: One of Qatar’s most upscale destinations.

To create the illustrations, Clym researched the wider Doha region and explored various districts and views, examining how the iconic skyline appears reflected in the water both day and night. Clym enriched his imagination with the “light-hearted luxury” that the property exudes, especially how the different areas such as restaurants and apartments have their own unique vision and story.

The videos were just as artistic and eye-catching, as Clym approached the animations with the same spark of creativity he is lauded for. He utilised real objects from the property such as room key cards and restaurant menus to make the videos truly speak with every detail. Each video also employed moments of stop-motion animation, which is an advanced technique used to present objects in a creative manner.

“Bringing my artistic views to the Middle East by collaborating with Four Seasons at The Pearl-Qatar is an exciting moment in my career,” Clym remarks. “Every corner of the property was truly inspiring to me. Before starting the initial sketches, I imagined myself immersed in each area of the property, which helped me to discover various ways to present the concept of inside/outside: elegant interior spaces that naturally evolve through to the outside environment.”

The property has scheduled an opening event to showcase and celebrate the new creations, along with culinary activations and a master class for Qatar-based artists by Clym, in the near future. Throughout their stay, guests will be able to view the illustrations at various touchpoints, immersing their artistic eyes in the beauty of The Pearl-Qatar and the property’s elevated design.

Committed to celebrating art in line with Qatar’s vision to become a cultural hub in the region, Four Seasons at The Pearl-Qatar has been gathering a range of exquisite artworks from diverse locales since its launch. Throughout the property, guests can find contemporary paintings from local Qatari artists including Hanadi Al-Darwish and Shouq Al-Mana, as well as works by internationally acclaimed creative minds such as a striking wall sculpture by Turkish artist Gülay Semercioğlu and four large-scale paintings by Parisian painter Maude Maris.

Clym Evernden is an award-winning artist and art director with a unique creative eye, named by The Evening Standard as one of “London’s most influential people.” His signature ink-based style encompasses illustration, mixed media, creative video, and set design. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Clym studied Fashion Design prior to working solely as an artist. Clym works with a growing number of luxury brands - his creations instantly present a narrative and brand’s DNA to the viewer with effortless clarity, making him an in demand and indispensable collaborator.
