On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center and Jean-Georges Philadelphia invites guests to step into a world of unparalleled artistry to experience a one-night-only chamber performance featuring Quartet Iris, comprised of musicians of The Philadelphia Orchestra. The event will harmoniously blend the worlds of culinary and musical excellence with a musically inspired four-course tasting menu by Executive Chef Cornelia Sühr and wine pairing expertly handpicked by Jean-Georges Philadelphia's Sommelier Damien Graef. A performance by Quartet Iris will be set against the backdrop of an iconic skyline, setting the scene for an unforgettable evening.

“Music and culinary arts go together beautifully, and Quartet Iris is excited to take guests on a journey of classical music and incredible food pairings,” said Yumi Kendall, a member of Quartet Iris and assistant principal cello of The Philadelphia Orchestra. “I am thrilled to see this partnership between The Philadelphia Orchestra and Four Seasons Philadelphia come to fruition.”

Quartet Iris is comprised of world-class musicians of The Philadelphia Orchestra, all of whom won their positions while still at music conservatories. The Quartet includes Julia Li (violin), Christine Lim (violin), Che-Hung Chen (viola) and Yumi Kendall (cello). Inspired by The Philadelphia Orchestra’s commitment to education and the School District of Philadelphia, Quartet Iris was first formed in the summer of 2019 and has since performed in concert halls and community venues of all sizes.

“It is not a secret that I admire the GRAMMY Award-winning Philadelphia Orchestra, a true treasure in the City of Philadelphia,” says Executive Restaurant Chef Cornelia Sühr. “Collaborative events like this often bring together individuals who share a passion for both culinary arts and musical performance. It's an opportunity for guests to appreciate the harmony between food and music, as both are forms of artistic expression that can evoke deep emotions. I am incredibly excited for our very first collaboration dinner, and to see these two worlds come together in a single event here at Jean-Georges Philadelphia.”

This one-of-a-kind experience will reveal the magic of a unique and unforgettable night in the heart of Philadelphia.
