As Restaurant Chef at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita’s signature oceanfront restaurant, Bahía by Richard Sandoval, Chef Hasan Mehdawi combines flavours from his unique experiences across the world. He uses his diverse culinary background to inspire new dishes on the menu, including flavours from home such as hummus, fattoush salad, and kebabs.

When Chef Hasan began his higher education, he planned to pursue a hospitality degree at the Royal Academy in Jordan. To support himself through his studies, Hasan worked in a small local restaurant and ultimately fell in love with cooking, discovering his truest self in the kitchen. With more than a decade of experience, Hasan is now an accomplished culinary professional with an extensive background in the hospitality industry.

One of Chef Hasan’s most influential professional experiences was serving as the personal chef of the Italian Ambassador at the Italian Embassy in Abu Dhabi from 2017 to 2020. In this prestigious position, Hasan was able to hone and expand his culinary repertoire, catering to distinguished guests and diplomats while developing impeccable attention to detail.

Prior to his time at the Italian Embassy, Chef Hasan honed his skills in a collection of hotels and resorts across Amman, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai. He served as restaurant chef at Hyatt Regency Creek Heights in Dubai from 2015 to 2017, as well as enjoyed early career experiences at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi and Kempinski in Amman as a chef de partie. Most recently, Hasan was head chef at Firefly Restaurant and the UNF Restaurant Group.

In his personal time, Chef Hasan loves to explore the beaches and jungles of Nayarit with his wife and their young daughter.
