Introducing Budi Widodo, Newly Appointed Resort Manager of Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island

Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island welcomes Budi Widodo to its team as Resort Manager. Arriving on Thursday, September 21, 2023, after an evening as an honoured guest at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, Budi brings a passion for service and a reputation for excellence. At the height of a career that has taken him on a global tour of luxury hospitality, Budi is ready for an exhilarating new challenge at the castaway paradise of Desroches.

Beginning his career as a bartender and wine bar assistant while still a teenager, Budi immersed himself in hospitality through cruise ship roles before finding his home in the world of luxury hotels. In 2001, Budi was appointed as assistant restaurant manager for the Park Lane Hotel in Jakarta, where he was quickly promoted to head bar manager. In 2005, he joined The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta as a restaurant manager and progressed through the ranks as banquet director and restaurant director.

After a year as food and beverage manager for Hotel Mulia, Budi became part of the Four Seasons family as Food and Beverage Director at Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta. The following seven years saw Budi hold this prestigious position at both Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa and the former Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai before, in 2017, he was rewarded for his unfailing excellence with an appointment as Hotel Manager in Shanghai. In October 2020, Budi returned to Ritz-Carlton as hotel manager for their property in Sanya, China, before rejoining Four Seasons for his current appointment in September 2023.

“Since 1998, I have travelled the world of luxury hospitality with appointments in Singapore, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, and the Maldives. Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has been my home for more than a decade of that career and I have enjoyed the privilege of serving at iconic properties from Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa to the former Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai,” says Budi. “Today, I’m excited to join the distinguished team at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island, where I look forward to sharing my passion for hospitality with every colleague, and every guest.”

Budi is a dedicated family man, happily married to Denik, and proud father to twelve-year-old Bima. Alongside the joy of caring for his family, Budi takes great pride in nurturing new talent in his resort teams.

“I am honoured to share my experience and expertise with the next generation of leaders, to watch them bloom and grow, and to achieve great things,” continues Budi. “At the same time, I am delighted to work in a role where I can be of daily service to those around me, and to the local community in which the resort sits.”

In his downtime, Budi's interests are as diverse as they are exciting. From exploring new restaurants to savouring wine and grooving to music at festivals, or cheering F1 drivers around the world’s race circuits, he's a true epicurean. Budi's perfect day starts with a cup of green tea or coffee and ends with a good book. On his days off, you'll find him jogging, whipping up delicious dishes, or casting a line for some relaxing fishing. With his zest for life and wide-ranging interests, Budi brings a welcome and refreshing perspective to the remarkable team at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles.
