28 HongKong Street Hops into Grain to Celebrate the Lunar New Year at Four Seasons Hotel Sydney

January 5, 2023,
Sydney, Australia

Usher in the Lunar New Year at Four Seasons Hotel Sydney while one of Asia’s 50 Best Bars 28 HongKong Street takes over the Hotel’s cocktail bar, Grain. As the Year of the Rabbit brings with it a hope of longevity, peace and prosperity, the team hops into the year with auspicious events and ingenious cocktails.

Naz Habib and Chris Peart of 28 HongKong Street join Adam Lau’s team for two nights only, January 21 and 22, 2023, bringing Chinese flavours to Sydney. Pull up a seat at the bar to enjoy cheeky banter and watch their craftmanship at work.

To complement the craft cocktails, guest bartenders and traditional Chinese cuisine, the bar will kick off the festivities with a Lion Dance, provide mahjong sets, cocktail roulette, and a custom fortune cookie giveaway including the chance to win an overnight stay at Four Seasons Hotel Sydney. The Year of the Rabbit promises to bring good luck, right?

The menu celebrates Asian flavours using Peddlers Gin. The award-winning gin from Shanghai uses organic botanicals foraged from Sichuan, Yunnan and Gansu for a distinctively Eastern flavour unlike any other gin.  The limited time cocktails boast Chu-Xi Negroni, Cha Chaan Teng, Golden Goose, Down the Rabbit Hole and Prosperity Sour.

About 28 HongKong Street

Hidden behind an unassuming 1960s shophouse façade, 28HKS is a word-of-mouth venue for people who might appreciate the kind of venue that we enjoy ourselves: relaxing at the beginning, growing a tad louder as the night goes on. The drinks focus is on artisanal spirits and American-style craft cocktails. 28 HongKong Street was the first-ever winner of The Best Bar in Asia award in 2016 and to this day remains an institution.
