Although he was unsure of his final destination, Christian Storck knew a career in hospitality was certainly on the itinerary. “As an athlete, I enjoyed competing and even played professional volleyball in Germany, but I realized it wasn’t all I wanted to pursue. Aside from my ambition to dive into a new industry, my height meant my sports career aspirations were (quite literally) coming up short. So, I set my sights on a career in hospitality, and it was in that change that something clicked. Being in an industry where I had the ability to make someone’s day or even a lifelong memory - it doesn’t get much better than that,” Christian states.
After graduating from vocational school with a focus on hotels and business in his hometown of Berlin, he moved to England and landed his first job at the Chewton Glen in New Milton, England a Relais & Chateaux. By 2004 Christian moved across the country and set foot in the United States for the first time. He started his management career at the Blantyre Relais & Chateaux Hotel in Lenox, Massachusetts. It was at this point that he knew he was on the right track. In 2007 Storck began his Four Seasons career as an Assistant Banquet Manager in Washington, DC and continued his Four Seasons journey at city and resort destinations across the US, including Los Angeles, Jackson Hole, and Scottsdale. “Wherever I reside, I always strive to make the most of it and take in the destination’s people and places,” says Storck.
In 2017, when the opportunity to rejoin the team in Washington, DC as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage arose, Storck jumped at the chance, not only for the challenges that would accompany the new role, but to return to a place he considered home. Having already served at the property, his understanding and knowledge of the city destination was invaluable. A year later, he worked his way up through the ranks and was promoted to Director of Food and Beverage.
After three years back in the nation’s capital, it was time to make his way to a new property, this time as Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore. He would reside there for two more years learning the ins-and-outs of the new role before heading to the Lone Star State as Hotel Manager for Four Seasons Hotel Austin. In Austin, he enjoys having a pivotal role within such a unique property and growing team. He is especially excited to be a part of creating the Hotel’s robust activations and experiences. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, running, and exploring the city.
