CUR8 is turning up the heat as it welcomes the renowned Chef Chinna Karuppan to its open kitchens as he unveils the highly anticipated South Indian Food Festival at Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru. Known for his mastery of South Indian cuisine, Chef Chinna promises a sensory voyage from January 17 to 26, 2025 that transports guests from the spice plantations of Kerala to the vibrant coastal kitchens of Tamil Nadu.

With more than a decade of experience at prestigious establishments such as The Leela Ashtamudi, Pullman and Novotel Hotel Delhi Airport, and Shangri-La’s Eros Hotel, Chef Chinna has cultivated a reputation for blending traditional cooking techniques with innovative menu creations and modern plating styles.

Chef Chinna's signature dishes, including the iconic Madurai Mutton Sukka, reflects his commitment to celebrating regional flavours while infusing them with a contemporary touch. His curated selection of specialties includes standout creations such as the rich Nandu Kuzhambu from Tamil Nadu, indulgent delights such as Lobster Thokku Masala and Fish Nirvana from Kerala, as well as the aromatic Gongura Mutton and the bold Kakarakaya Stuffed Fry.

Hailing from the picturesque village of Malavalabu, Tamil Nadu, Chef Chinna’s culinary roots trace back to his childhood, where he mastered treasured family recipes and assisted local caterers. By the age of 19, he embarked on a professional career devoted to preserving and elevating the diverse cuisine of South India.

“I believe in celebrating the authenticity of South Indian flavours while embracing modern techniques to elevate the dining experience,” says Chef Chinna. “My approach is rooted in using sustainable ingredients and creating dishes that are both innovative and steeped in tradition. I love cooking recipes that I have inherited from my mother. It gives me immense pleasure when I come close to her original recipe.”

During the South Indian Food Festival at CUR8, guests will embark on a gastronomic journey through Chef Chinna’s signature creations. This exclusive event will highlight the region’s rich culinary landscape, featuring dishes crafted with authentic spices and fresh, locally sourced ingredients, all presented in CUR8’s inviting ambience.
