With more than a decade of expertise in curating guest experiences, Ashok Nair is a consummate hotelier with a measured and balanced approach to his roles.

Always enthusiastic and inquisitive - traits he says he has picked up from his son - Ashok is constantly looking to add to the experience a guest can have. “I love observing guests immerse in the simple joys of life and rediscover the child within. It’s worth all the effort that goes into curating experiences,” he smiles.

Prior to joining Four Seasons, Ashok managed a diverse portfolio at the Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces, including the illustrious Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, India. Starting out in learning and development and then later as Palace Services Manager, Ashok built a reputation for crafting unique tours and experiences and played a vital role as the Palace was named among the final four of Virtuoso’s Hotel of the Year 2014.

Known as a "people’s person," Ashok is focused on quality training and empowering colleagues who are at the forefront. “The critical aspect, I believe, is to take care of the team with the same genuineness as we expect them to take care of our guests,” he shares.

Being inspired by nature as a yoga and meditation practitioner, he sees the potential of the lush rice paddies of Mae Rim and believes that Chiang Mai too, has something to offer everyone: “A nature lover, a wellness enthusiast, a foodie, or on retail therapy - it doesn't matter whether you are travelling solo, on a romantic getaway or a family vacation – this town can keep you busy.” But above all, there’s a unique healing touch at the "cultural capital of Thailand," highlighted in the experiences at Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai. “We often hear guests say ‘time stands still’ when they are with us, and it truly does. Wrapped in rice paddies and overlooking the misty peaks of Doi Suthep, our countryside haven of wellbeing offers experiences that are rooted in tradition and a reflection of the balanced lifestyle that Thai people are known for.” For Ashok, to be able to curate personalised journeys of wellbeing with varying expectations, preferences and sensitivities, is a challenge he loves.
