Four Seasons Hotel Chicago announces the reopening of Mile High Cocktail Club, an exclusive and elevated speakeasy experience. This year, the lounge welcomes a special collaboration with the renowned Handshake Speakeasy, recently crowned the #1 bar in North America on the esteemed North America’s 50 Best Bars list.

Located on the Hotel’s 46th floor, this intimate 40-seat lounge is the highest speakeasy in Chicago. From November 14, 2024, through March 1, 2025, guests will enjoy sweeping views of the Magnificent Mile and stunning sunsets while savouring a unique, handcrafted cocktail menu curated by Handshake’s experts.

Based in Mexico City’s hip Colonia Juarez neighbourhood, Handshake Speakeasy brings its iconic high design and dedication to future-forward cocktails to this Chicago experience. Bar Director Eric van Beek’s approach combines innovative mixology with a deep appreciation for rare and aged spirits. Guests will be able to purchase a two-drink package, as well as a four-drink option including a welcome glass of Champagne.

  • Salt -n- Pepper: Ilegal Mezcal, strawberry, yellow bell pepper, habanero, and salt. Fruity / Spicy / Long
  • Earl Grey: Bombay Sapphire Gin, Earl Grey tea, bergamot, lemongrass, and Nami Sake. Citrusy / Fresh / Long
  • Olive Oil Gimlet: Cazadores Blanco Tequila, olive oil, apple, rosemary and Lillet Blanc. Round / Zesty / Short
  • Cariño: Bacardi Reserva 8 Años, Yellow Chartreuse, vanilla, lemon, Greek yogurt, and nutmeg. Creamy / Fresh / Short
  • Butter Mushroom Old Fashioned: Angels Envy Bourbon, brown butter, mushroom, maple, and walnut. Complex / Nutty / Short
  • Tomato is a Fruit (unique to Mile High Cocktail Club): Grey Goose Vodka, tomato, coconut, strawberry, and citrus. Fruity / Savoury / Short

In celebration of the Hotel’s 35th anniversary, the design for Mile High, presented by Kehoe Designs, offers a sophisticated, immersive setting inspired by rich hues of greens and vibrant emeralds. This year's palette draws from both traditional and modern gemstones, honouring the 35-year milestone while setting the tone for an experience infused with bejewelled glamour and good fortune.

The experience begins in the Adorn Bar on the 7th floor, where guests are welcomed with Champagne and guided to the 46th floor. Upon arrival, guests step into a transformed suite - now a secret lounge with plush velvet banquettes and a radiant bar. The space glows with candlelight, creating a sense of timeless elegance. Inside, suspended copper chains adorned with Edison bulbs and emerald-hued neon ropes enhance the enchanting ambiance. Whimsical design accents, like the photo-worthy "Sands of Time" bathtub filled with crystals and emerald gems, pay homage to the former hotel suite, adding a playful touch.
