Mile High Cocktail Club Returns to Four Seasons Hotel Chicago in Collaboration with Handshake Speakeasy, the World’s #1 Bar

Four Seasons Hotel Chicago announces the reopening of Mile High Cocktail Club, an exclusive and elevated speakeasy experience in continued collaboration with the renowned Handshake Speakeasy, which earned the #1 spot on the prestigious World’s 50 Best Bars list in 2024.

From October 2 through December 31, 2025, guests will enjoy sweeping views of the Magnificent Mile and stunning sunsets while savouring a unique, handcrafted cocktail menu curated by Handshake’s experts. Located on the hotel’s 46th floor, this intimate lounge is the highest speakeasy in Chicago.

Based in Mexico City’s hip Colonia Juarez neighbourhood, Handshake Speakeasy brings its iconic high design and dedication to future-forward cocktails to this Chicago experience. Bar Director Eric van Beek’s approach combines innovative mixology with a deep appreciation for rare and aged spirits. Guests are encouraged to make reservations in advance, with a maximum 1.5-hour seating time.

Inspired by Handshake’s Mexico City roots and the Hotel’s own Chef Olimpia Calderon Ibarra’s upbringing in Sinaloa along with her refined Mexican cuisine, menu highlights include Latin-inspired flavours such as oysters with tequila lime granita and octopus tostadas. Mile High fan-favourite, the Olive Oil Gimlet, will also return to menu this season, along with new drinks such as the Tarragon Fizz. Additionally, guests will enjoy exclusive Patron-crafted cocktails, designed specifically for Mile High in collaboration with the beloved premium tequila brand.

The experience begins in the Adorn Bar on the 7th floor, where guests are greeted with a welcome beverage and guided up to the 46th floor, where they then step into a hotel suite that’s been transformed into a secret lounge with plush leather banquettes and a radiant bar. The space glows with candlelight, creating a sense of timeless luxury amid the modern speakeasy space with unmatched city views. The intimate design for Mile High includes just 30 seats in a sophisticated and immersive atmosphere inspired by the golden hour, blending warm golden tones with elegant green accents.

Further setting the stage for a memorable evening, the music direction, curated by BELLOSOUND, combines Latin jazz, Afro-Cuban grooves, bossa nova, and global beats with live talent and DJs from Chicago’s music scene. Each set is intentionally crafted to complement the room’s energy, shifting seamlessly from vibrant rhythms to laid-back vinyl selections. Live music will be available on both Friday and Saturday evenings in the Mile High Cocktail Club speakeasy.
