Classic French Brasserie "La Capitale" at Four Seasons Hotel Amman to Set a New Standard as City's Best New Neighbourhood Restaurant
Food connoisseurs in Amman can look forward to dining in true French style as the city gets ready to welcome its first real brasserie, La Capitale, in early November 2016 at Four Seasons Hotel Amman.
La Capitale celebrates France’s love of great food, drink and hospitality, with a classic brasserie fare that includes signature dishes such as rotisserie chicken with jus from Chef Arthur Vonderheyden's open air kitchen, and other highlights including purée de pommes de terre à l’ancienne; indulgent foie gras au torchon with pain d’épices and duck parmentier; quintessential escargots à la Française; and moules frites, vibrant fresh fruits de mer; salade niçoise; hand-picked charcuterie and fromages, and more.
An all-season terrace combined with a vibrant space featuring southern French design accents and Provençal elements make the restaurant another lively neighbourhood destination to hang out with family, friends or colleagues. To round out the authentic brasserie experience, an elegant bar will adjoin the restaurant, serving up Jordan’s first farm-to-glass cocktails showcasing seasonal and fresh produce and a range of artisanal French spirits and liqueurs. Expect signature handcrafted cocktails will be truly unique to Jordan, such as the La Capitale twist on the classic martini using small batch French gin and French dry vermouth infused with fresh Jordanian olives and dill.
Armed with a native understanding of French cuisine and extensive practical experience in well-known French kitchens, Arthur Vonderheyden will be the culinary artist in charge at La Capitale as the restaurant’s Chef de Cuisine, whose gastronomic style is a culmination of years of training alongside household names on the French culinary circuit, including Joël Robuchon, the acclaimed chef and restaurateur.
“As French people, we share a special relationship with food and deeply value the love and care that go into French gastronomy – from selecting and picking the ingredients through to presenting the dish with elegance and perfection, and then pairing it with the right wine. It is this passion for French dining that we are bringing to La Capitale where our food, ambience, service and hospitality promise to create culinary magic for food enthusiasts in Amman. Everything at La Capitale will be served with a pinch of love as we want our guests to feel like they were dining in a local brasserie in Paris,” says Chef Vonderheyden.
