One Light, One Kid: Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake Hosts a Heartwarming Christmas Lighting Ceremony to Support Autistic Children
Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake hosted a heartwarming Christmas lighting ceremony in its landscaped garden to kick off the festive season on December 6, 2025. This year, the occasion, which was attended by more than 200 invited guests and patrons, also served as an annual charity gala aimed at raising funds for Hangzhou Carnation Children’s Rehabilitation Centre (HCCRC) to support autistic education initiatives.
The ceremony, set amidsthe Hotel’s verdant lakeside garden, commenced with a festive Christmas choir performance by Hangzhou International School, followed by a heartfelt address from Gianni Costa, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake.
“Love is at the core of Four Seasons DNA. At Four Seasons, love isn't just a word; it's the very essence that runs through the core of our being, shaping every action and decision we make. It's the guiding light that leads us in all that we undertake,” says Gianni. “Every year at this meaningful occasion, we come together not only to bring joy and cheer, but also to show love and kindness to the special children with autism. We are very grateful to have so many supporters joining us to make a positive impact in the community.”
The highlight of the evening was the lighting of the magnificent Christmas tree positioned atop the glass platform over the Hotel’s outdoor infinity pond. Lit up every night since the ceremony, surrounded by a festively decorated garden and set against the stunning backdrop of the UNESCO-listed West Lake, symbolizes the spirit of giving and love that defines the festive season. This enchanting scene, enhanced by the magical presence of Santa Claus, live band music, festive treats, and a warm, loving atmosphere, truly encapsulated the essence of the evening.
This year’s fundraising efforts, in addition to ticket sales, featured an auction of Four Seasons room vouchers sponsored by sister hotels, and other sponsored items. Simultaneously, an art exhibition called One Light, One Kid is being held at the Hotel to continually raise awareness for this special group, featuring 30 imaginative paintings created by the children from HCCRC. As one of the Hotel’s annual charitable initiatives for 12 years, all net proceeds from the charity event will be donated to the HCCRC.
