Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis Unveils Saturday Afternoon Tea at Mara: A Fresh Take on a Timeless Tradition
Mara Restaurant, led by James Beard Award–winning Chef Gavin Kaysen at Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis, is introducing a new weekend ritual: Saturday Afternoon Tea. Debuting on December 13, 2025, the experience features two seatings each week at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm.
Designed as a modern, playful take on classic Afternoon Tea, the new service pairs Mara’s warm hospitality with vibrant flavours, artful presentations and an engaging social atmosphere. Guests are invited to linger over tiers of sweet and savoury bites, delicate pastries and thoughtfully sourced teas by Jing Tea.
Mara’s Saturday Afternoon Tea menu will feature:
- Savoury bites including Cucumber, Maine Lobster, and Egg Salad Tea Sandwiches.
- Freshly baked scones served with house made accompaniments like clotted cream and apple butter.
- Desserts and pastries showcasing Coconut Cake, house made Madeleines, and seasonal Fruit Tarts.
- A curated tea selection by Jing Tea, complemented with a champagne toast and optional cocktails and zero-proof creations from Bar Mara.
“For our Afternoon Tea, we wanted the pastry tier to feature seasonal flavours with a bit of whimsy,” says Kenzie Ross-Timm, Pastry Chef. “We have taken classics like scones, Coconut Cake, Madeleines, Fruit Tarts and reimagined them with Mara’s flavour profile along with a lighter touch, so guests can taste and discover something new with every visit.”
Set within Mara’s light-filled dining room, the experience invites guests to reconnect and savour the moment with friends and family to start a new weekend ritual.
Saturday Afternoon Tea at Mara debuts with special holiday season seatings on December 13, 20, and 27, 2025, followed by ongoing Saturday service each week in the new year.
