Cult Wines and Culinary Craft: Auro’s 2025 Wine Pairing Dinner Series at Four Seasons Napa Valley

Limited-seat dinners where Napa’s most sought-after wines meet Michelin-starred creativity

May 23, 2025,
Napa Valley, U.S.A.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley invites guests to return to the table for its acclaimed Wine Pairing Dinner Series at Auro, the Resort’s Michelin-star restaurant led by Executive Chef Rogelio Garcia. Set within a working vineyard, Auro offers an intimate setting for this seasonal series, held monthly from June through October 2025. Each evening features seven artfully composed courses paired with Napa Valley’s most coveted cult wines. This is more than a dinner. It is a rare chance to taste Napa at its best, where bold vintages, peak-season ingredients and soulful storytelling meet in one unforgettable night.

At Auro, each course is a composition of flavour, texture and time. Chef Rogelio Garcia’s Michelin-starred tasting menus evolve with the seasons, spotlighting the region’s finest ingredients, including heirloom stone fruit and citrus from Tenbrink Farms and dry-aged Wagyu and heritage meats sourced from Allen Brothers. Highlights have included Shima Aji cured for ten days and layered with yuzu aguachile, a black trumpet mushroom tetela finished with fermented red pepper and walnut, and Mole Negro enriched with toasted chiles, chocolate and seasonal fruit. This commitment to craftsmanship and narrative cuisine sets the tone for the Wine Pairing Dinner Series, where each evening becomes a dialogue between vineyard and kitchen, tradition and innovation.

“For me, every menu starts with the season. I’m inspired by the textures, colours and relationships behind each ingredient — where it comes from, who grew it, and the journey it took to reach the plate,” says Chef Garcia. “At Auro, we honour that process and create something personal. These dinners are not just about flavour. They’re about memory, connection, and the harmony between food, wine and place.”

Derek Stevenson, Auro’s Lead Sommelier, curates each evening’s pairings in close collaboration with some of Napa Valley’s most esteemed wineries.

“These dinners give us the opportunity to explore the nuance and personality of individual vineyards,” says Stevenson. “We’re pouring wines that rarely leave the cellar, with depth, complexity and origin, paired with cuisine that brings them to life.”

2025 Wine Pairing Dinner Series Line-Up

June 25 | Staglin Family Vineyard

Founded by Garen and Shari Staglin in 1985, Staglin Family Vineyard produces world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from organically farmed vines on historic Rutherford land first planted in the 1860s. Nestled against Mount St. John in the Mayacamas Range, the estate’s gravelly soils offer ideal drainage for Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.

Legends such as André Tchelistcheff, David Abreu and Bob Levy have all contributed to the vineyard’s legacy. Today, winemaker Fredrik Johansson - protégé of Thomas Rivers Brown - crafts expressive, age-worthy wines that have earned consistent acclaim from top critics.

Renowned consultant Philippe Melka leads the winemaking alongside Maura Johnson, crafting single-vineyard Cabernet from Helms, Lotus and Hershey Vineyards, as well as a Sauvignon Blanc and a second wine blended from estate-grown fruit. Longtime winemaker Benoit Touquette now serves as consulting winemaker, continuing to shape Realm’s signature style alongside Chief of Winegrowing Chris Cooney—formerly of Dana Estates—and Winemaker Kelly Fields, whose background includes two decades at Joseph Phelps. As the winemaker for Lokoya, Cardinale, La Jota, Mt. Brave and Caladan, Carpenter works across Howell Mountain, Mount Veeder, Spring Mountain and beyond, translating altitude and terroir into wines of depth, tension and longevity.

With degrees in biology, business and enology, Carpenter brings a rare combination of scientific rigour and artistic intuition to his craft.
