Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley Adds New Winery Experiences Across Calistoga for Harvest 2026
New wine experiences at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley now connect the resort’s organic vineyard and working winery with ADAMVS, Davis Estates and Chateau Montelena. Introduced for the 2026 Harvest Season, the collection ranges from private visits beyond the Resort to hands-on blending, vineyard walks and chocolate-and-wine pairings at Elusa.
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley is the only Forbes Five-Star resort in Napa Valley with an on-site working winery. Cabernet Sauvignon grows across the 4.7-acre (1.9-hectare) estate vineyard, and wine is made at Elusa only steps from guest rooms. Guided walks through the vines lead into production tours and tastings, allowing guests to follow the process from vineyard to cellar. The grape-to-glass experience unfolds at one Calistoga address, with the estate vineyard and Palisades Mountains visible from guest-room terraces, restaurants and pools.
At the northern end of Napa Valley, Calistoga has been shaped by vineyards and geothermal waters for more than 150 years. Its agricultural roots remain visible in the surrounding estates and year-round Saturday farmers’ market, while the compact and charming downtown retains the scale of a small town. Hospitality here is warm, casual and personal, shaped by people closely connected to the community. Harvest follows the weather: white and sparkling wine grapes typically arrive in late August, followed by red varieties through September and October, and into early November in cooler years.
The resort’s Silverado Trail location places Davis Estates seven minutes away and Chateau Montelena nine, with a complimentary house car available upon request for both visits.
“Five years in, I’m proud that Four Seasons has become a town favourite and a starting point for exploring all of Napa Valley,” says Robby Delaney, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley. “What means the most are the relationships we’ve built around Calistoga. Through them, we can connect guests with the wineries, farmers, artisans and business owners who make this part of Napa Valley so special.”
Beyond the Resort: Access Reserved for Guests
Each estate offers access beyond the typical visit, from private estate tours to behind-the-scenes spaces and tastings created exclusively for the resort. At ADAMVS on Howell Mountain, visitors are ordinarily received only by advance appointment and from the estate's own list. For Four Seasons guests, the 80-acre (32-hectare) property opens privately. A guided walk through its vineyard and biodynamic gardens precedes a tasting of ADAMVS wines alongside selections from the Adams family's Bordeaux estates, Château Fonplégade in Saint-Émilion and Château L'Enclos in Pomerol. ADAMVS has held Demeter biodynamic certification for more than 16 years.
A private visit to Davis Estates takes guests through the Calistoga vineyard and into a winery designed by Howard Backen before descending into 11,000 square feet (1,022 square metres) of caves. Barrel pours along the route are followed by four current-release wines, each served with a seasonal dish from the estate’s culinary team. The Davis family’s private car collection can also be viewed on request.
Four Seasons guests have two exclusive ways to visit Chateau Montelena during the 50th anniversary year of its victory at the 1976 Judgment of Paris. The Insider Experience combines library and current-release vintages with special access to parts of the historic Chateau outside the standard visit. Available in spring, early summer and fall, the Vineyard Vista Experience begins with a private tour of the grounds and vineyard, followed by wine, artisanal cheese and charcuterie on a secluded hillside terrace. The anniversary recalls the blind tasting at which Chateau Montelena’s 1973 Chardonnay placed California wine on the international stage in France.
Winemaking Without Leaving the Resort
Elusa invites groups to step into the role of winemaker and explore the decisions behind a finished bottle. Designed for six or more guests, Blend Like a Winemaker begins with a production tour and an introduction to the seasonal blending wines. Guests then create and bottle personal blends to take home, accompanied by an Elusa grazing board.
Vines & Vintages: A Morning with Elusa begins with a pour of 2023 Sauvignon Blanc before a guided walk through the organically farmed vineyard. At a table set between rows of Cabernet Sauvignon, two red wines are served with cheese as the host explains the volcanic soils and growing conditions of the Calistoga AVA.
The Chocolate and Wine Tasting Experience pairs a flight of Elusa wines with locally made chocolates designed to mirror or contrast their fruit, spice and structure.
Continue the Journey at MICHELIN-Starred Auro
The experience continues at Auro, Calistoga’s only MICHELIN-starred restaurant. After an afternoon at Elusa, guests can stroll to the dining room for Executive Chef Evan Neumann’s seven-course menu, which draws on ingredients at their peak across Napa Valley. French technique provides the foundation, joined by a contemporary California perspective and Japanese influences.
Resort Beverage Manager Derek Stevenson directs a cellar of more than 4,400 bottles across 750 labels, bringing Napa Valley producers into conversation with benchmark wines from beyond the region. In 2026, Auro and TRUSS Restaurant + Bar each received each received Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence.
“Each kitchen shaped a different part of how I cook,” says Neumann. “Joël Robuchon taught me discipline and exactness. Alain Ducasse taught me to keep the product at the center of the plate, while Anne-Sophie Pic sharpened my sensitivity to aroma, acidity and unexpected pairings. At Auro, those lessons meet the seasons and ingredients of Napa Valley.”
The Auro Wine Dinner Series brings leading winemakers to Calistoga for six-course dinners from May through October. The 2026 harvest program includes:
- Eisele Vineyard | August 26, 2026
The experience begins with a private visit to Eisele Vineyard, a 38-acre (15-hectare) Calistoga estate first planted in the 1880s and now stewarded by Artémis Domaines. Guests return to Auro for dinner with Eisele wines and selections from Château Latour, Clos de Tart, Château-Grillet, Beaux Frères, Bouchard Père & Fils and Champagne Jacquesson. - Quintessa | September 30, 2026
The evening explores a 280-acre biodynamically farmed Rutherford estate that produces one Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine from 26 individually vinified vineyard blocks. - Hundred Acre | October 28, 2026
Limited-production Cabernet Sauvignons from Jayson Woodbridge’s Hundred Acre are poured alongside wines from sister labels Fortunate Son and Summer Dreams.
Harvest in Wine Country
September and October bring warm afternoons and cooler evenings to Calistoga. Guests can spend the day beside the vineyard at the resort's pools, unwind with harvest-inspired treatments at Spa Talisa, soar above the valley in a hot-air balloon or take the wheel of a supercar for a guided Napa Valley Dream Drive. After sunset, guests gather around suite and terrace fire pits for s'mores beneath Calistoga's evening sky. Complimentary bicycles connect the Resort with downtown Calistoga and nearby trails, while weekly programming includes Friday Wine Hour with local winery partners, Saturday cocktail classes at TRUSS and weekend vineyard yoga.
Celebrating Five Years in Calistoga
2026 marks the fifth anniversary of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley. What began as Napa Valley's first Resort built around a working winery has grown into a gathering place for guests, local vintners, artisans and the Calistoga community.
The milestone year will continue with a community celebration this November, followed by the return of the resort's holiday programming, including festive dining experiences, seasonal activities, family traditions and New Year's Eve celebrations. From harvest through the holidays, the calendar reflects the relationships and sense of place that have shaped the Resort's first five years in Calistoga.
