Two Michelin Stars for L'Orangerie
At L'Orangerie, Alan Taudon's bold and innovative cuisine has been awarded with a second Michelin star in the 2024 Michelin Guide. With all-glass windows overlooking the Marble Courtyard, L’Orangerie provides a warm and discreet setting with a tranquil, intimate ambience that stands in contrast to the vibrant energy of the Hotel.
The Chef’s unique creations are based on sustainable practices, favouring light, gourmet dishes centred around vegetables, dairy and seafood, deliberately eschewing meat.
Using innovative cooking techniques, Alan's cuisine pays homage to the essence of pure, uncomplicated flavours, where every dish embodies a delicate balance of lightness and rich, concentrated aromas. Bold, creative and inventive, Alan is a connoisseur of sauces who ingeniously reimagines the principles of classical French gastronomy with a contemporary twist, making sauces the cornerstone of his menu. Remarkably delicate yet surprisingly complex, each sauce subtly elevates his culinary compositions. The gastronomic experience at L’Orangerie ignites the senses, enriched by delicate sweet creations meticulously crafted by Pastry Chef Michael Bartocetti.
"I am thrilled to have received this recognition from the Michelin Guide. It is the result of the relentless hard work of my entire kitchen and dining room teams, who work day in, day out with passion, determination and dedication to offer guests a unique culinary experience. This second star both honours and motivates me equally. Enamoured with the essence of French culinary heritage, deeply rooted in our terroir, and proud of my Limousin roots, it fuels my determination to innovate, take risks, and craft culinary experiences that evoke deep emotions,” comments Chef Alan Taudon of two-Michelin-starred restaurant L'Orangerie.
Le Cinq and Le George Maintain Their Stars
Led by Chef Christian Le Squer, Le Cinq restaurant has also retained its three-star ranking this year. With just over a hundred three-Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide, Le Cinq is one of the world's finest gastronomic establishments.
Finally, at one-Michelin-starred Le George, Chef Simone Zanoni and his kitchen and dining room teams have once again been recognised for their commendable eco-friendly initiatives and green approach to gastronomy with a Green star bestowed alongside a Michelin star. Awarded to only a handful of chefs in France and around the world, the coveted Green star recognises restaurants for their outstanding commitment to eco-responsibility.
