Four Seasons Hotel Seoul – Korea’s Luxury City Haven – Secures Third Consecutive Forbes Five Star Rating
- The iconic Hotel, rising 29 glittering storeys from Seoul’s geographic heart, retains its prestigious Five Stars in Forbes Travel Guide 2022
- The Hotel’s Spa secures its sixth consecutive Four Star rating, and remains the only spa in Korea with Forbes status
- The Hotel is one of just 323 properties in the world to be awarded Forbes Five Star status in 2022

Following an official announcement on April 26 by the Forbes Travel Guide 2022, Four Seasons Hotel Seoul announces its Forbes Five Star status for the third consecutive year. In awarding the accolade, Forbes made particular mention of the Hotel’s “sensuous interior,” as well as its iconic city views and sophisticated services, while The Spa retained its Four Star status – continuing the Hotel’s six-year run as the only hotel in Korea with a Forbes-rated spa.
Launched more than six decades ago to help discerning travellers select the world's best experiences, Forbes is the only independent, global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants, and spas. Properties are assessed on 900 objective standards by anonymous professional inspectors, with Five Star properties defined as “outstanding, often iconic properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities.”
“We’re delighted to secure our Forbes Five Star status in 2022 and it’s an accolade we don’t take lightly,” comments General Manager Alejandro Bernabé. “Part of our commitment to our guests is to constantly evolve and elevate every experience. From launching our homage to the story of Seoul through new bar concept, OUL, to becoming industry leaders in hybrid events, these past years have seen us prove our worth on the international stage.”
The Hotel, which opened in 2015, has built a reputation as Korea's leading luxury escape by providing world-class customer-tailored services, high-tech conveniences, and a heartfelt connection to Asia’s “city that never sleeps.” The mountain backdrop and views of Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces are echoed in classic Korean nature motifs within the décor, set against a clean, modern aesthetic. Further drawing on the city’s heritage, The Spa features a decadent Korean sauna – cold, warm and hot baths decorated with 18-carat gold tiles – signature treatments and a picturesque sunlit pool with Juice Bar.
World-class dining comes courtesy of eight distinctly different restaurants and bars including award-winning Yu Yuan and secret speakeasy Charles H. – ranked Best Bar in Korea and one of the World’s 50 Best Bars. Featuring the latest virtual technology for cutting-edge hybrid events, the Hotel’s 196 square metres (23,638 square feet) of light-filled function space includes 5 ballrooms for up to 800 guests, 2 executive boardrooms and a stunning 15th floor garden roof terrace.
Korea saw its first visit from Forbes Travel Guide in 2017, when Four Seasons Hotel Seoul earned its first Four Star rating. Since 2020, it has held the coveted Five Star accolade.
