This November, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi invites guests to discover Uji matcha with its new Matcha Afternoon Tea, available at MAISON MARUNOUCHI from November 1 to 30, 2026.

French-born Executive Pastry Chef Nicolas Maugard reinterprets Kyoto's renowned Uji tea through a carefully curated assortment of pâtisserie, revealing its depth and complexity through thoughtful techniques and complementary flavours. Paired with ingredients such as fragrant yuzu, succulent nashi pear and rich dark chocolate, each pastry highlights a distinct dimension of the tea's layered character. Cultivated in Kyoto's historic Uji region, where generations of growers have refined their craft, this celebrated green tea imparts remarkable depth and elegance across the selection.

Among the highlights, Éclat – Matcha Cube, Yuzu delights with its striking emerald hue and delicate layers. Matcha mousse is paired with yuzu confit, yuzu gel and light almond sponge. The tea's subtle savoury notes are lifted by vibrant citrus accents, resulting in a refreshing and finely balanced finish.

Celebrating one of autumn's most cherished fruits, Nashi – Matcha Tartlet, Japanese Pear combines a crisp pastry shell with green tea almond cream and nashi confit, finished with vanilla mousse and fresh pear slices. The fruit's delicate sweetness accentuates the tea's nuanced astringency.

As an indulgent treat, the Intense – Dark Chocolate Financier, Matcha Ganache pairs a moist, rich dark chocolate financier with matcha ganache. Deep cocoa nuances amplify the tea's earthy depth, delivering a satisfying bite with a lingering bittersweet finish while the Sésame Noir – Matcha Choux, Black Sesame, pairs the tea's characteristic savoury complexity with the roasted richness of black sesame.

The Matcha Afternoon Tea is available from November 1 to 30 and is priced at JPY 12,000. For reservations, book online or call +81 3 5222 5880.
