Washington, DC, U.S.A.

The legendary House of Krigler, renowned for its timeless fragrances and bespoke creations, opened its fifteenth luxury boutique - this time in the nation’s Capital at Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC. Nestled within the iconic property, this apothecary-style boutique offers a sophisticated homage to Krigler’s storied legacy and its iconic Art Deco Golden Era.

Located on the Hotel’s lobby level, the 485-square-foot (45 square metre) boutique is a stunning blend of classic Krigler design elements, featuring black, gold, mirrored Art Deco, and the neo-classical architecture of Washington, DC. Inspired by Parisian salons, the ambiance is both luxurious and inviting, reflecting the brand’s dedication to crafting unforgettable experiences.

The new boutique will offer the full range of Krigler’s existing perfumes, access to the 850 fragrances in the Krigler archives, luxury scented candles, and extraordinaire noble soaps.

For those seeking something truly unique, the boutique offers atelier perfumery services, allowing clients to design personalized fragrances or candles. This process, which typically takes between 9-12 months, ensures every creation is as exception as its wearer.

The space is adorned with crystal bottles, European antiques, and works of art pulled from the Kriger family’s personal archives. Guests can also view framed correspondence from Krigler’s esteemed clientele, including members of royal families from Monaco, Jordan, and the Netherlands.

Among Krigler’s most celebrated blends are America One 31 and Lovely Patchouli 55, famously favoured by John and Jackie Kennedy, as well as English Promenade 19, reportedly the signature scent of Audrey Hepburn.

“We are delighted to bring the timeless elegance of The House of Krigler to Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC,” says Marc Bromley, Regional Vice President and General Manager. “This exquisite boutique elevates the guest experience, offering a fusion of artistry and opulence that reflects our commitment to exceptional hospitality.”

“Krigler has long been associated with Washington, DC, and its distinguished clientele, including world leaders and a former US President who have worn our fragrances,” shares Ben Krigler, the fifth-generation head of the family fragrance house. “Opening a boutique in the US Capital has been a long-standing aspiration, and it allows us to deepen our connection to a city steeped in history and elegance, while bringing our heritage of craftsmanship to new audiences.”

Whether discovering an iconic scent, crafting a bespoke fragrance, or immersing in the artistry of fine perfumery, the new Krigler boutique inside Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC promises an extraordinary experience.

The House of Krigler Boutique is open daily Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:30 pm, and Sunday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

About the House of Krigler

Mr. Albert Krigler, a Berlin-born chemist, created his first scent, Pleasure Gardenia 79, in 1879 for his French fiancé. Enamoured by the art of scent creation, Mr. Krigler opened perfumery in 1904 in St. Petersburg, Russia, and began to create a collection of exclusive fragrances. He moved his perfumery to Berlin briefly, then settled in the South of France in 1909. Along the way, Mr. Krigler gained acclaim and high-profile clients, including members of the royal family and European cinema stars. By the 1930s, Krigler perfumes were being sold at The Plaza Hotel in New York City, and by the mid-20th century, American clients included Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and F. Scott Fitzgerald. A few of the House of Krigler’s most notable blends have included America One 31 and Lovely Patchouli 55, said to have been the favourites of John and Jackie Kennedy, respectively, as well as English Promenade 19, reportedly the signature scent of Audrey Hepburn. Today, the fragrance house is run by Ben Krigler, Albert’s great-great grandson, and Krigler perfumes may be found at www.krigler.com as well as at the exclusive and prominent 15 locations worldwide like at The Fairmont, Four Seasons, The Ritz Carlton, The Peninsula, and The Kempinski.
