"Art" We Fancy? Four Seasons Hotel Chicago Enhances Its Art Collection
Four Seasons Hotel Chicago has added eleven new pieces of fine art to its existing gallery. The installation, which took place in November 2014, was overseen by acclaimed art consultant Elizabeth Weiner from New York City. Weiner was one of the first western curators to bring pop art to the attention of the Shah when she worked at the Niavaran Cultural Center, and was part of a small group who brought Andy Warhol to the White Chapel Gallery when he had his first one-person show in London. She was also the first hotel curator to place Warhol, Dale Chihuly and Frank Stella pieces in luxury hotels in Asia. Today, she oversees art collections at hotels throughout the world, including many Four Seasons properties.
The new artwork - featured in the Hotel's Lower Lobby, 7th Floor Lobby and Allium Restaurant and Bar - includes works from Frank Stella, James Rosenquist, Roy Lichtenstein, Larry Rivers, René Magritte, Bernar Venet, Tom Wesselmann and Tseng Kwong Chi. Weiner hand-selected the art to "wow" guests, and to provide yet another one-of-a-kind experience at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. She is enthusiastic about unveiling this collection - each with custom-designed frames - that create bold statements and evoke conversation throughout the Hotel.
Both visitors and locals are invited to view the spectacular pieces that are joining the Hotel's gallery indefinitely.
