The 2022 edition of the Greatest Mexican Restaurants Guide produced by Culinaria Mexicana, S. Pellegrino, Nespresso, published by Larousse and presented by Audi was announced this weekend in the historic destination of Acapulco by the Mexican Pacific. Aramara at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita is on the list of the 250 best restaurants in Mexico, the result of the thorough travel and scrutiny of 60 gastronomy writers, sommeliers, Mexican culinary lovers, restaurants, and bar owners.

In 2021, this council visited all states in Mexico – including the Riviera Nayarit and Punta Mita - to experience the traditional restaurants and the new culinary offerings in the country. The 250 restaurants compiled in this guide are a clear representation of the vast gastronomy throughout Mexico as well as the constant evolution and appreciation of the culinary techniques that have been adopted by Mexican chefs in recent years. “Aramara's respectful yet innovative approach to Asian cuisine is definitely the reason behind this outstanding accolade. This is a validation of something I have always felt proud of: the hard consistent work of our people,” states John O'Sullivan, the property's Regional Vice President and General Manager.

“In reference to Aramara, the dining experience revolves around the dishes that have been carefully curated to be shared easily, fostering that connection that happens when one shares the table; from the appetizers, sushi, and sashimi - all made with local fish of meticulous freshness, the regional ingredients of the season - to the region's yellow fin tuna, which is the only tuna found all over the Resort. Aramara's Asian flavours have been created with a deep respect for Asian cooking techniques, paying extra attention to every detail. Aramara has dishes on its menu that have transcended such as duck to the five spices, the Hot Rock, the steamed buns with bacon, the crispy cauliflower, the beef steak wok and its signature Aramara's souffles. The selection of wines and sake paired with an intuitive, attentive, efficient and discreet service by of the team, creates memorable experiences that our guests and residents long to repeat; Aramara's kitchen truly reflects real passion on a daily basis,” says Jorge González, Executive Chef at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. “Since Aramara opened we have always been on a constant search for this traditional yet innovative approach to Asia and its flavours, now with Chef Martín Flores the fusion has reached a level that can only be achieved by discipline, knowledge and devotion to both the kitchen and the destination.”

In this year's selection of the Greatest Mexican Restaurants, the sustainability efforts made by every reviewed restaurant were also taken into consideration. Martín Flores, Restaurant Chef at Aramara mentioned, “Our property is always working with fresh local products; in the Riviera Nayarit, we can find anything all year-round. But we have to be aware of this balance and build our menus around every product's seasonality to guarantee we always have the best and the freshest while being mindful of our environment.”

Riviera Nayarit currently has six restaurants on this list, including Aramara at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita.
