“Our aim at The Healing Village Spa is to take every guest on a journey of discovery, through both traditional and technological wisdom,” comments Regional Director of Spa Luisa Anderson. “Since Covid, we’ve noticed that many guests have taken a really proactive approach to their health so our focus has extended to sharing health technology that can be explored safely on-site in a deeply healing environment, before guests decide whether it’s an investment they’d like to make for at-home use.”

Take-Away Tools for Long-term Wellbeing

The all-new Pilates Studio at The Healing Village Spa at Four Seasons Resort Jimbaran Bay includes a state-of-the-art Assessment and Recovery Zone where technology is employed to support everyone from those with injuries to advanced athletes. Treatments include Compression Boots – using compressed air to massage limbs, mobilise lymph and speed recovery; Flex Beam – a wearable infrared therapy device to relieve pain, repair muscle and recharge energy, and Therabody Vibration – hand-held massagers that reduce tension, increase blood flow and speed up rehabilitation. The latter two are available for guests to purchase onsite to continue their healing at home, while guests can also learn take-home thermotherapy practices in the Spa’s Longevity Garden – a serene “steam garden sanctuary” for two with a self-led thermotherapy sequence that includes DIY salt scrubs and mud wraps, an Infrared heat and PEMF (Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field) mat to draw out toxins, and an invigorating ice bath.

Cutting-Edge Technology, Heartfelt Healing

The Illume Room at The Healing Village Spa is Bali’s first “Surround Sound Spa Suite,” featuring a heated quartz-sand bed made of crushed crystals for inversion therapy, surround sound technology, powerful chromotherapy (using light and colour), and seven alchemy crystal singing bowls for high vibrational healing.

Other pioneering offerings include TDA (Transdermal Application) facials using  the  world’s first dermatological-aesthetic  therapy  system  to transport  active anti-ageing  ingredients  non-invasively into the deepest layers of the skin; Venus Freeze facials combining Multi-Polar Radio Frequency and Pulsed Magnetic Fields to help restore a youthful appearance to face, neck and body, and VisBody Analysis – a 3D body scanner that analyses body composition, posture and more.

“Through analysis like Visbody, we’re able to enhance our holistic spa experiences too, so the technology feeds into the tradition,” adds Anderson. “Using ultrasound we can explore alignment and range of movement, which in turn can be used during a massage or a yoga class to ensure a more targeted remedial approach. Every treatment ends with a restorative jamu drink – a traditional anti-inflammatory elixir rich in turmeric that brings us back to ancient Balinese wisdom.”
