Michael Casey’s journey in hospitality began long before he chose it as a career.

Growing up across three continents, with formative years spent in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United States, he was exposed to diverse cultures from an early age. It went on to shape Michael into a truly global citizen, and he was able to develop a deep understanding of life in a multicultural environment.

It was a recurring family tradition in Cairo that left the deepest impression. Monthly brunches at Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence were something the family looked forward to. Inside the hotel's walls, it seemed like a microcosm of the larger world unfolded. While the young Michael was fascinated by this carefully orchestrated sequence of service and matchless elegance, what really made a mark was the genuine care.

"It felt like stepping into another world," he recalls. "Inside the hotel, everything flowed along effortlessly. While it all felt like being in a concert of sorts, we always left the hotel feeling very well looked after.”

Those experiences and the deep sense of guest service sparked a fascination that would eventually shape his career with Four Seasons.

After graduating from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston, Michael joined Four Seasons Hotel Houston as a pool attendant while still studying. It was the first of many guest-facing roles that gave him an invaluable understanding of luxury hospitality from the ground up. Working across the pool, fitness centre and front office, he developed the intuitive, hands-on approach that continues to define his leadership style today.

In 2011, Michael relocated to Singapore to join Regent Singapore (formerly a Four Seasons hotel) as Guest Experience Manager, marking the beginning of an international career that would span several leadership positions across rooms, housekeeping, and front office operations. He later moved to Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, where he further strengthened his operational expertise before taking on the role of Director of Rooms at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi.

At Langkawi, Michael broadened his experience in managing the complexities of a large luxury resort. In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, he regularly led the property in the absence of the General Manager and played a key role in launching the Resort's UNESCO Geopark Discovery Centre. It reinforced the connection between the guest experience and the destination itself.

In 2023, Michael joined Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, bringing nearly two decades of Four Seasons experience to one of the brand's most celebrated beachfront resorts. Having previously supported the property as part of a special task force, returning as Resort Manager felt like a natural next chapter. Michael has worked closely with The Nam Hai’s design teams during enhancement projects, carefully balancing contemporary comforts with the property's distinctive architectural character.

Michael is a true steward of the Four Seasons Golden Rule: treating others as you wish to be treated. Throughout his career, Michael has credited mentors who encouraged his growth by giving him responsibility and trust. Today, he strives to create the same opportunities for his own teams, fostering an environment of camaraderie and support. "You can never discount genuine attention or care from the everyday," he says. "No two days or people are ever the same."

An avid traveller and an aquatic sports enthusiast, Michael is looking forward to his journey in his new Coconut Island home in the South of Thailand.

"This is a truly special property," he says. "It's the combination of exceptional service, authentic Samui hospitality, and unforgettable experiences that keeps our guests coming back year after year.
