With great power, comes great responsibility, goes the adage made popular by the famous superhero Spiderman, and who better to demonstrate this than Phansak Yuthong, who lives by this philosophy. Committed to prioritising safety and security to preserve lives, prevent injury, protect the environment, safeguard material assets, and uphold brand reputation, “My passion is to continuously create a safer working environment and improve the management of safety and security,” he says.

Phansak’s journey has always revolved around forming strategic and working relationships with local law enforcement agencies, emergency response teams and other security holders. “Every phase of my journey has helped bolster my confidence in handling emergency situations,” he shares, adding that continuous learning, training and practice are some of the things he swears by to put together an effective patrolling system that ensures the safety and security of guests and employees. His ability to remain calm has sharpened his grit to handle crises with dexterity. “It has helped me make critical decisions in high-stress situations and during security emergencies,” Phansak explains.

This security manager lives, breathes and follows the Golden Rule, where he loves treating others as he would like to be treated. Phansak believes that it is this principle that has supported the climb in his career, from a bellman to a concierge, to now the Security Manager at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui. “This Resort has been the most rewarding workplace for me. I've gained invaluable knowledge, made lasting connections, and have continually grown during my time here. I look forward to many more years with this organisation,” he smiles.

Known for maintaining high levels of productivity and innovation, Phansak regularly conducts extensive safety training, including crisis situations such as fires, medical emergencies, and more for both new hires and existing staff. “My vision includes implementing more advanced technology within the Resort's operations,” he mentions.

Phansak’s ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends lies in his passion for travelling and exploring different countries, properties, and cultures. “It is this exposure to new surroundings and people that helps me generate fresh ideas to adapt and implement in my work and personal life,” he insists.
