Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya has been awarded the Forbes Five-Star Award double for both its Hotel and Spa operations for the second consecutive year.

Having become the first property to bring the coveted international Forbes recognition to Kuwait, the Hotel is now the first to have achieved two Forbes Five-Star ratings (Hotel and Spa) for two years running, underscoring its luxury leadership position in the region.

Launched more than 60 years ago, Forbes is the only independent global rating system for high-end hotels, restaurants and spas – based on an assessment by anonymous inspectors according to 900 objective criteria. The emphasis is on the delivery of an outstanding guest experience and a highly customised level of service with sustainability at its heart.

“It’s truly an honour to be at the helm of a Hotel that is pioneering such a unique, forward-looking approach to Five-Star hospitality in the Arabian Gulf,” comments General Manager Martin Kipping. “To have achieved our second Forbes Five-Star rating is testament to the legacy that can be created when a curated vision of luxury and wellbeing also places responsible hospitality at its heart.”

Desert dwelling calls for a different level of responsible hospitality, as illustrated by the many sustainability initiatives at Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya.  An onsite water processing and bottling plant, complimentary vehicle e-charging stations for guests’ vehicles, waste-management and recycling practices combine with plastic-free guest rooms and the championing of local products to help alleviate pressure on the natural environment.

The Hotel’s Spa is a haven of wellbeing wonder offering cutting-edge therapies and ecological products in opulent surrounds – from a palatial Moroccan hammam featuring warm marble floors and curved walls to the grand pool with majestic views of Kuwait.

The Forbes Inspectors singled out the rooftop restaurants’ four-elements design motif as a highlight. A green living wall dividing the restaurants signifies earth; the outside terrace embodies wind; Asian eatery Sintoho depicts water, while the modern Italian restaurant Dai Forni evokes fire with its gleaming copper wood-fired ovens.

The meaningful vision of luxury at Four Seasons sleek Kuwait City sanctuary also extends to art and design. Interiors by Yabu Pushelberg of New York – framed by architecture by Gensler of San Francisco – house one-of-a-kind local artworks and installations including the glamorous Stairway to Heaven (an illuminated 43-foot/13-metre spiral staircase). Air-conditioned cabanas and guest rooms with accents of heritage colours inspired by flowing desert sand are two further examples of many more highlighted in the Forbes report.

The Hotel team looks forward to continuing to raise the bar with the delivery of meaningful and responsible luxury experiences throughout 2024 and beyond.
