Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya Renews Green Key Certification for 2026

Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya has renewed its Green Key certification for 2026, reaffirming its commitment to responsible hospitality and the continued integration of sustainable practices across the guest experience and daily operations.

The certificate was presented during a visit to the Hotel by Ms Mona El Rez Bassaj, Consultant for the Environment and National Operator for the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE); Ms Hebah Abbas, Head of the Sustainability Committee at the Kuwait Water Association (KWA); and Ms Ibtissam Lamouchi, Assistant to Ms Bassaj. The delegation presented the certification to Martin Kipping, General Manager, and members of the Hotel Planning Committee.

“Renewing our Green Key certification is particularly meaningful because it recognises the consistency and collective effort behind our environmental commitments,” said Martin Kipping. “At Four Seasons, sustainability is not separate from the guest experience. It is part of how we care for our surroundings, support our community and shape a more responsible future for hospitality in Kuwait.”

The certification follows a comprehensive assessment of the Hotel’s environmental management and operating practices, including energy and water conservation, waste reduction, responsible purchasing and team engagement.

Led by the Hotel’s Engineering team and supported by colleagues across all departments, these efforts include AI-enhanced food-waste management, on-site water bottling, the continued elimination of single-use plastics, energy and water monitoring systems, and electric vehicle charging stations.

The renewed Green Key certification complements the Hotel’s wider sustainability credentials, including LEED Platinum certification and Forbes Verified Responsible Hospitality, reflecting an approach in which thoughtful luxury and environmental responsibility progress together.
