Alvin Dela Cruz believes people go into a career in the kitchen because they love food, they love to create and most of all, because they love to make people happy. “That certainly is true for me. In my world, any family gathering or social event is usually centred around food and drink, bringing a sense of prosperity and happiness to everyone in attendance. Being the orchestrator of these events has always been a passion of mine.”
“It has been a real privilege for me to be mentored by a number of French master chefs. I have been able to learn French culinary arts in depth, and gain a real foundation in classic cuisine with a hands-on ability to practice techniques and methods,” he says, adding, “As a result of this career choice, I have been able to travel the world and nourish my passion for food, wine, and gastronomy. And while my journey with luxury hotels has shown that our properties will always have amazing products, views, and facilities, what really makes the difference is the people that that create the memories which ensure our guests return over and over like family.”
Chef Alvin loves hosting workshop and cooking demonstrations, but when not in the kitchen, he’s a CrossFit coach. His philosophy of life guides him to realize the best version of himself and he strives to help others achieve the same.
