A Return to Passion: Chef Carlos Cardosos Love Affair with Four Seasons

Love takes many shapes, and for Executive Chef Carlos Cardoso, it is a rekindled romance with Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon. Returning as the new Executive Chef, Carlos’s connection to the hotel began in 2015 when he worked for five years alongside Executive Chef Pascal Meynard. After years of exploring and honing his craft in other kitchens, Chef Cardoso returns to where his heart belongs, bringing his signature creativity and passion to the hotel, as the new Executive Chef and to the renowned Varanda Restaurant. The timing couldn't be more perfect, as Chef Cardoso celebrates his return with a dedicated Valentine's Day menu at Varanda.

A Culinary Ode to Love at Varanda Restaurant

Under the glow of candlelight and surrounded by timeless elegance, Varanda Restaurant sets the stage for an unforgettable Valentine’s Day dinner. Guests will indulge in a meticulously crafted five-course set menu, showcasing the season’s finest ingredients. Each dish is a celebration of love’s enduring charm, created with the artistry and precision that Chef Cardoso and his team are known for. Priced at EUR 175 per person (excluding drinks), this menu is designed to be savoured and shared.

From the Sea bream with Horseradish and Beluga Caviar to the Algarve Scarlet prawn, King Crab, Celery and Yuzu full of tang, these appetisers stand ready to seduce. The flavourful menu continues with a perfect Sea Bass, Barnacles and Bivalves from Ria Formosa; and a Milk fed Veal, Jerusalem artichoke, Morels mushrooms and Melanosporum Truffle.

For those seeking a touch of mystery, CURA Restaurant offers a secret Valentine’s menu that promises an intimate and joyful gastronomic journey. Surprises unfold with each course, ensuring an evening filled with delight and discovery. 

The Ritz Bars Tempting Cocktail, Apple of My Gin

For a post-dinner or pre-dinner indulgence, the Ritz Bar presents Apple of My Gin, by the bartender Vasco Varanda, a cocktail inspired by the timeless tale of Adam and Eve. With notes of crisp apple, warming cinnamon, and the botanical allure of gin, this drink is a modern-day homage to the temptation of the forbidden fruit. Savour this sip of paradise in the Ritz Bar’s romantic ambiance, where every detail tells a love story.

Valentine’s Parisian Charm: Afternoon Tea with Guerlain

Throughout February, the Almada Negreiros Lounge offers a limited-edition Afternoon Tea, Paris Patchouli, created in partnership with Guerlain. Featuring pink-hued delicacies by Executive Pastry Chef Diogo Lopes and accompanied by Guerlain’s luxury beauty and skincare treats, this tea is perfect for a romantic rendezvous or a Valentine’s celebration with friends. On the sweet side, the menu includes a Hazelnut Heart filled with Hazelnut Praline, Coffee and Salted Caramel; and a Lychee Tartelette with lychee and raspberry, to mention a few.
