CURA Restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon Retains Its Two Suns in the 2026 Repsol Guide
The prestigious Repsol Portugal 2026 Guide has once again awarded Two Suns to CURA, the fine dining restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon, led by Chef Rodolfo Lavrador, thereby reaffirming its status as one of the leading names in Portugal’s signature cuisine scene. The announcement was made in Évora during the Gala dos Sóis, one of the most significant events on the national gastronomic calendar.
Inspired by its Spanish counterpart, the guide awards one, two or three Suns to restaurants that meet rigorous criteria established in collaboration with the renowned Basque Culinary Centre. The Two Suns rating indicates a restaurant committed to innovation and creativity, where excellence is paramount, and where technique and top-tier ingredients come together in an environment designed to create an unforgettable dining experience. Impeccable service and an inviting atmosphere make these venues well worth the journey.
“It is with great pride and joy that we see CURA once again awarded Two Suns in the Repsol Guide. This recognition belongs to the restaurant and the entire team, whose daily dedication, passion, and attention to detail shape every dish and every service, day after day,” says Guilherme Costa, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon.
Each restaurant in the guide is meticulously evaluated by a panel of more than 20 expert local inspectors, who visit every establishment across the country (including the Azores and Madeira islands). These inspectors come from a variety of professional backgrounds (law, design, journalism, education, engineering, music, economics, psychology, and medicine), thereby ensuring an unbiased and well-rounded perspective. While not directly linked to the hospitality industry, all inspectors share a deep appreciation for gastronomy and a passion for discovering and sharing remarkable dining experiences.
“This award is a very important recognition for the whole team; it is a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment we put into every detail, every day. We will remain focused on developing our craft and providing memorable experiences that truly resonate with our guests,” says Chef Rodolfo Lavrador.
The renewal of Two Suns award highlights the consistency of a project in which CURA continues to stand out as a space for creativity and identity, where contemporary cuisine is built upon a sensitive, rigorous and innovative interpretation of Portuguese produce, but also through its clarity and maturity, validating a continuous pursuit of excellence, backed by a cohesive team and a well-defined vision. In the kitchen, Chef Rodolfo Lavrador reinforces his own distinctive style, which is elegant, precise and deeply rooted in the local region. At his side, Sous Chef Marina Garcia ensures the consistency and day-to-day execution of the culinary offering.
Looking ahead, Chef Lavrador remains committed to innovation and excellence: “At CURA, each menu is designed as a journey, where seasonality, tradition and innovation intertwine subtly, offering a dining experience that is both intimate and sophisticated. This approach is expressed in dishes that change with the seasons, where local produce takes centre stage, from fish from the Portuguese coast to carefully selected and prepared vegetables, sourced responsibly and sustainably. We are excited about the future of Portuguese gastronomy and eager to explore new heights.”
At a time where Portuguese cuisine continues to make a name for itself, CURA consolidates its place among the country’s finest dining destinations, while also reinforcing its role in establishing Lisbon and Portugal as an outstanding destination for contemporary signature cuisine, with a distinct identity and purpose.
Sobre o CURA
Skillful curatorship – curadoria in Portuguese – lies at the heart of CURA, the signature restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon. Opened in 2020, CURA needs no introduction in Lisbon's fine-dining scene and has since attracted international acclaim. Within its first year, the restaurant was awarded a Michelin star, which has been retained and renewed ever since. With its façade and entrance on Lisbon’s Rua Rodrigo da Fonseca, CURA is both of the city and of the Hotel.
Like the timeless Portuguese modern artworks that frame the Hotel’s common areas, both the space and CURA’s gastronomic approach reveal layers of complexity to evoke an emotional and sensorial response.
CURA offers two tasting menus: one of five courses and a more extensive one, of ten courses, a journey into the flavours of contemporary Portuguese cuisine. All menus have wine or soft pairing options.
With a total of 28 seats, CURA is open for dinner only every day, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm.
