Wellness Philosophy
A ground-breaking and timely exploration of connection, collaboration and hope that inspires guests to “love the Earth as they love themselves.” AyurMa (which means “Mother of Life” in Sanskrit) celebrates Nature as the source of all wellbeing. Drawing from the four pillars of Planetary Wellbeing, Ayurveda, Yoga Therapy and Wellness, AyurMa’s expert team of Ayurvedic Doctors, Naturopaths and Yoga Therapists create bespoke therapeutic programs and invite guests to cultivate care for themselves, others, the oceans and the entire planet.
Design Aesthetic
- Indian-influenced design embraces natural environment through open-air garden pavilions with wooden-floor decking, screen panels made of funa tree branches, Indian brass bowls and saucers for spa ingredients
- Overwater treatment pavilions with tropical breezes and ocean views
Interior Designer: Avalon Collective
Concept
Planetary Wellbeing - AyurMa’s Planetary Wellbeing experiences further explore the joys of connection and underpin a new way of being for the whole Resort. Drawing on a deep sense of oneness, they are epitomised by Rahumathuge Vaguthu: a daily Earth Blessing ritual that unites guests and staff in celebration of the island’s natural beauty. AyurMa’s founding principle of Planetary Wellbeing extends far beyond the Spa’s tranquil surroundings. Part of an island-wide initiative that has long been woven into every aspect of Landaa life – from community outreach projects to country-leading conservation and regeneration – it encapsulates the Resort’s vision for a sustainable future. Aware of its responsibility as an industry leader, Landaa partnered with EarthCheck and the NOW Force for Good Alliance in early 2020 to ensure accountability across all operations.
Ayurveda - Ayurveda offers guests the benefits of a 5,000-year-old “instruction manual” for natural living based on diet, herbal remedies and lifestyle modifications, through bespoke treatments, targeted solutions, and extended programs such as Panchakarma.
Yoga Therapy - AyurMa centres on bespoke Yoga Therapy Courses, devised with S-VYASA, global pioneer of yoga therapy through scientific research. The latest Immunity Builder module joins Stress Management, Spinal Care, Thyroid Health and more. Other yoga options include AntiGravity, Aqua Float and a Yoga Energy Trail.
Wellness - AyurMa’s Wellness experiences encourage deep mindful care of ourselves: the first step to helping us take care of others and the wider world. Therapies include Alignment Rituals and Gifts of Connection plus high tech science-meets-healing treatments including Teresa Tarmey Facials and TDA Face and Body Therapies.
