A Festive Cake Inspired by Moroccan Wood Art at Four Seasons Resort Marrakech

September 12, 2025,
Marrakech, Morocco

This December, Four Seasons Resort Marrakech unveils a festive cake that pays tribute to the city’s artistic heritage. Pastry Chef Anouar Ait Abdelaali draws inspiration from Moroccan woodwork and the refined Almoravid floral patterns, with intricately carved palmettes, digitations, eyelets, and serrated leaves that still adorn many monuments in Marrakech, once the capital of the Almoravid Empire.

This creation is both a visual tribute and a culinary journey. At its base lies a soft date biscuit topped with a delicate crunch. The heart reveals a creamy Moroccan Majhool date filling with a luscious date insert, while a supreme white chocolate mousse with a hint of orange crowns the ensemble with balance and elegance.

This homage to Moroccan craftsmanship also echoes the Resort’s newly renovated accommodations, where carved wood details bring the same artistry to life across headboards, walls and tables.

Available from December 20 to 31, 2025, this limited-edition festive cake serves six to eight people and is priced at MAD 650.

Orders must be placed 48 hours in advance by calling +212 524 359 200.
