Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City Presents OMA, an Exclusive Omakase Experience
OMA invites guests to embark on a personalized culinary journey led by Chef Abraham López in an elegant space designed by Mexican architect Ezequiel Farca
The gastronomic offering has always been essential at Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City, bringing together both guests and locals around a unique selection of culinary experiences in an incomparable location in Mexico City. Starting in November 2024, the Hotel's gastronomic landscape reaches new heights with the opening of OMA, an intimate omakase led by Chef Abraham López. With space for only 10 diners, OMA will take its guests on a unique journey, guided by extraordinary ingredients, ancestral techniques, and creative and innovative touches.
In Japanese, the term omakase means "to put oneself in the hands of the chef," and so, OMA invites guests to fully trust the experience that Chef López and his team prepare each night. Upon sitting at the bar, a 21-course tasting menu awaits, always based on the freshest product available. Each ingredient that arrives at the OMA bar comes from local sources of sustainable aquaculture, and is carefully selected by Chef López and his team, ensuring not only exceptional flavour, but also confirming the commitment to sustainability that distinguishes OMA and Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City.
Living the omakase experience means interacting directly and personally with the chef. At OMA, each course of the menu is an opportunity to delve into the gastronomic tradition of Japan, in the purity of its ingredients, and also in the creativity of the culinary team behind the bar. To elevate the sensory experience, OMA has an exclusive selection of Japanese sake and wines that harmonize with each dish.
Inspired by the Japanese culinary tradition, OMA offers a unique gastronomic experience, where the quality of the ingredients takes centre stage. Freshly grated wasabi, carefully selected, adds a spicy and aromatic touch that elevates each dish. The variety of fish, from the coasts of Ensenada to the seas of Japan, guarantees unparalleled freshness and flavour. The sawagani, a sea crab characterized by its intense flavour and crunchy texture, is a culinary gem that cannot be missing from the menu.
The interior design of OMA, by the Mexican design firm Ezequiel Farca Studio, is inspired by minimalist Japanese aesthetics, using natural materials such as stone and wood. Located on the ground floor of the Hotel and hidden among its lush gardens, OMA welcomes diners with a discreet entrance that invites them to discover an intimate space, ideal for a personalized culinary experience. As night falls, the soft lighting, background jazz, and serene atmosphere of the garden transform OMA into a captivating place where luxury and simplicity meet, as its name promises. OMA, a simple and brief word, evokes purity and precision in every detail.
