For Marcio Souza, hospitality is all about making connections. “It’s about understanding people and bringing something unique to their experience, no matter how big or small,” he says, reflecting on his years in the industry. Marcio’s approach is a blend of personalized service and deep respect for the individuality of each guest, and he takes pride in creating a space where everyone feels seen and appreciated.

Marcio began his career in 1997 as a receptionist at a corporate hotel in Florianópolis, quickly discovering his passion for hospitality. “It didn’t take long for me to realize this was more than just a job – it was a calling.” Over the years, Marcio moved into sales and marketing, steadily advancing through various commercial roles across Brazil and Australia with both national and international hotel chains.

With more than 25 years in sales and marketing, Marcio understands the importance of attention to detail and genuine connection. “Our guests aren’t just numbers,” he explains. “They’re individuals with stories, preferences, and ideas. My team’s goal is to tune into those needs and make them feel at home, even when they’re far from it.”

In September 2023, Marcio relocated to Mexico City to join the team at Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City – a place he considers one of the finest he has worked at in his entire career. “It’s truly an honour to be part of the best hotel in the city,” he says with pride. To him, Four Seasons Mexico City embodies everything he values in hospitality: world-class service, an exceptional team, and a commitment to creating unforgettable guest experiences.

Marcio leads his team by encouraging open communication and empowering each member to take ownership of client interactions. “If someone on my team has an idea – whether it’s setting up a special welcome basket or arranging an off-the-menu dish for a guest – I say go for it. Those personal touches are what people remember.”

Outside of work, he enjoys discovering new corners of Mexico City with friends. “The city has so much to offer. I’m always finding hidden spots to relax or enjoy a great meal,” he says.

Reflecting on his career, Marcio feels nothing but gratitude. “I’ve been lucky to spend my life doing what I love, working with incredible teams, and building something special with our guests. That’s what it’s all about – creating moments that make people feel truly welcome.”
