Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island announces the opening of La Pizzeria, a vibrant new dining destination located at the heart of the Castaway Centre. Celebrating the art of Italian cuisine with a local island twist, La Pizzeria brings handcrafted sourdough pizzas, fresh pasta and creative antipasti to guests seeking a relaxed yet elevated dining experience. With its prime spot in the Castaway Centre, lunch at La Pizzeria comes with unbeatable ocean views, gentle sea breezes and plenty of space to soak up the island vibes.

“La Pizzeria is all about bringing people together over great food, warm island vibes and the freshest ingredients,” says Budi Widodo, General Manager. “Our team has crafted a menu that honours Italian culinary traditions while highlighting the unique flavours of Desroches. It’s the perfect place to share a meal with family and friends,” continues Budi.

“Our culinary team is passionate about creating dishes that showcase both Italian tradition and the bounty of Desroches. Many of our ingredients, from juicy tomatoes and fragrant basil to sweet peppers and fresh rocket are grown locally at our farm, which allows us to deliver vibrant, flavour-packed dishes while supporting the island’s sustainability. Every plate is crafted with care, teamwork and a love for what we do,” adds Venugopal Unnikrishnan, Executive Sous Chef.

Guests can begin their meal with a selection of antipasti, such as Insalatina di Polpo, marinated baby octopus with lemon and garlic dressing, or Arancini al Nero, squid ink rice balls with tuna and basil mayonnaise.

Freshly made pasta dishes include Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe, with roasted black pepper, pecorino cream and a hint of lemon zest, or Linguine Aglio e Olio, tossed with garlic, chilli and aromatic bread crumble. Guests can also enhance their pasta with grilled prawns, poached lobster or marinated fresh tuna.

The centrepiece of La Pizzeria is its handcrafted sourdough pizzas. Highlights include Gamberi and Ricotta, featuring marinated prawns, lemon ricotta and confit tomatoes; Pizza Tartufata with mushrooms, truffle sauce and bresaola; and Pizza Isolana, a tribute to the island with spicy tomato sauce, fior di latte, local tuna, lime and coriander dressing, and roasted peppers.

For lighter bites, La Pizzeria offers panini such as the Panino dell’Isola, filled with smoked marlin, smoked mozzarella, lemon mayonnaise, capers and rocket. Sweet endings include indulgent Italian desserts such as Tiramisù and Panna Cotta, a tribute to the island infused with coconut milk, passion fruit and caramelised pineapple, alongside a selection of island-inspired gelato.

To complement the cuisine, guests can enjoy a selection of signature cocktails, including the Old Sicilian with Takamaka Dark and Disaronno, the tropical Isola di Desroches with coconut rum and fresh pineapple juice, the herbaceous Pesto Martini, and the indulgent Dolce Vita with espresso, dark rum and vanilla ice cream, each crafted to capture the flavours of the island in a glass.

La Pizzeria is open for lunch from Sunday to Friday, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm, offering guests a relaxed yet lively setting to enjoy Italian flavours infused with island freshness, all while taking in views of the turquoise waters and lush surroundings.
