Born in Pavia, Italy, Armando Sammarruco’s first foray into bartending came during his early college years, at the age of 19, in Bologna, the lively city with a distinguished craft cocktail scene. He was always fascinated by the coloured bottles of various shapes that stood behind a bartender, and he fell in love with his job behind the bar, creating the passion that kept his artistry developing for the next 20 years.

Armando travelled the world as a bartender, honing his craft and gaining a wealth of international experience that led him to exciting new adventures behind the bar at many distinguished restaurants and bars. From the prestigious Ceresio 7 in Milan and the iconic London Pub; The White Horse, to Ryujin restaurant in Kyoto, and most recently at Bullona Sharm’s sister establishment Bullona Cairo as well as many other countries, including France, Turkey, and Brazil.

When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Sammaruco says, "As a mixologist, I am committed to crafting unforgettable fine-drinking experiences for our guests. Every cocktail is a story waiting to be told, and I am passionate about creating new and innovative ways to tell those stories through flavours, textures, and presentation."

In 2020, Armando joined Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza as a Head Mixologist at Bullona Cairo, playing an instrumental role in launching the restaurant as the second outpost of the distinguished Bullona Milano in the heart of Cairo. Armando crafts every detail behind the opulent, round and high energy bar with a focus on creating exceptional experiences complemented with artful cocktails

In 2023, Armando was transferred to Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh as the Beverage Manager at Bullona Sharm. He brings his extensive expertise in mixology and bar operations to his role, where he combines his knowledge of raw material, doses and blends to elevate the cocktail scene in Sharm El Sheikh.
